my colligs hv been pointing out dat my tummy is getting bigger n noticeable... 1 even asked for my permission to touch my tummy! hee!

last nite, Dearie n me were researching on english names for our little one... more or less decided on 1 for ger n boy... but decided to continue searching for 1 more each... Dearie was saying in case our little one, whn born, dun look like our 1st choice of name, @ least stil can hv another name to fall back on... heehee! we oso thot of some chinese names, but wil stil bring the name for suan4 bi3 hua4 =)

so excited! can feel our little one moving inside my tummy! whn sleeping, oso can feel tummy sorta weighing down cos nid to sleep on one side (best on left side, fr wat me read in pregnancy books)... can b a bit uncomfy thou...

nxt appt wif Dr Lui is 18 Jan, in the morning b4 we go 4our short cruise on Virgo in the evening =) mus remember to ask Dr Lui to write me a letter in case the cruise ppl wanna c... they actualli hv a policy of nt allowing pregnant ladies 24 weeks into pregnancy on board... me actualli nt 24 weeks yet on 18 Jan but jus in case lah... *touch wood*

Merry Belated Xmas to all! =)

hee.. this came a bit too late... oredi 2daes past xmas liao... =)

had numerous xmas gatherings dis yr n received several gifts too... Dearie n me were telling our little one that nxt yr, he/she can join us liao! hee!

had steamboat dinner wif Cheongling, Weipei & Jovian on 14 Dec, Fri =) wanted to try out the highly recommended steamboat place ("Xian De Lai") by CL, but it was fully booked by the time we reached there... walked around looking for alternative eateries b4 deciding on another steamboat place ("Parklane"). nt bad too... CL oso noted down the tel no. of Xian De Lai so dat she can make reservations next time, which is 28 Dec, gathering cum xmas xchg for PA gers =) as Jo is unable to join us on 28 Dec, she gave us our xmas pressies on 14 Dec, v cute towels shaped into a cake =)

15 Dec noon was another xmas xchg @ our lovenest =) been 3rd yr since we moved in in 2005 =) hee! oso been using the same xmas tree we bot from ikea 4 our xmas gatherings... we had potluck @ ard lunch time. Dearie n me bot a mocha logcake fr Meritus Mandarin n oso ordered 2 pizzas fr Oiishi Pizza; Jieying n Sean got a chicken pie fr DON; Shuling n Alex got sushi; Joyce n Ronghua got fruit tarts; Janice n Ivan got tarts fr Coffeebean; n Michelle got drinks (sparkling juices)... so in all, we had a v full thou sinful lunch =) itz gift xchg 4us gers while the guys jus sat around @ the dining table (lucky can squeeze in 11 ppl!) me got a pregnancy planner fr JY; an electric fragrance dispenser fr SL; a pair of Hush Puppies boxers (which hopefully, me can wear aft giving birth) fr Janice; a set of chopsticks n table cloth fr Joyce; n a cute soft toy bear fr Michelle =) Dearie oso bot USB fragrance thingies as "door gifts" for them =P

evening was another xmas xchg @ May's place... dis time was wif my ex-colligs fr SMRT. itz BBQ... May was v thotful n asked whether any food me cant eat... hee... told her some but asked her nt to wori too much as me wil jus selectively pick the food me can eat =) got a health charm fr Jerlene as a souvenir fr her recent trip n it was a real coincidence too dat we oso picked each other during the gift xchg! me got pink Hello Kitty thermal flask which they said wil cm useful 2me whn feeding our little one =P gennie is oso v helpful upon learning me preggers =) she gave me alot of tips during pregnancy, during confinement, stretch mark cream, milk powder samples, amongst other samples =) thanks! ^.^/~

16 Dec was another xmas xchg, but dis time, it was Dearie wif his sec sch frenz =) we booked a function room @ The Caribbean n bot some titbits (Mamee, potato chips, assorted nuts), drinks (Decaffeinated Root Beer, Coke, 7-Up, Peach Tea) n Chicken (Black Pepper, Honey Baked) ( fr Giant @ Vivocity while Ong Wei bot real food of San Lao, Fried Rice, Chestnut Beancurd... Dearie oso got a Chocolate Mousse logcake fr Meritus Mandarin... there was a promotion by Meritus Mandarin, among other hotels @ MINDEF n Dearie took a sample of the logcake n found it nice, so immediately ordered 2. Onli after ordering did he realise he might b able to get it cheaper if he asked Amelia to order as she is working @ Meritus Mandarin n can get it @ staff rates.. oh well... next yr lor if she is stil working there... For dis gift xchg, Dearie got a Saboteur card game... in return, he received a box of chocolates... sighz... he was saying nxt yr, mebbe shld ban food items as gifts cos dis yr, 3 of them got chocolates as gift items!!!!!

on 25 Dec, Xmas dae itself, we had a mini xmas dinner @ my in-laws'... instead of turkey, we replaced it wif roast duck n char siew (which my in-laws drove out to buy), oso shared marcaroni n cheese, potato salad n coleslaw bot fr Kenny Rogers... MIL oso got me a bottle of apple juice which me n Dearie shared =) after dines was gift xchg... Dearie got me a handphone chain of cute Pooh n frenz trinkets n 4-leaf clover (me thinking of converting it into a keychain cos oredi got 1 Pooh handphone chain on my hp currently) n a cute Chocobu huggie; MIL got me a Pooh bear huggie; MIL & Kristy shared a pair of pearl earrings fr Lee Hwa... me had hinted to Dearie dat me wanna look for pearl earrings, he smsed Kristy n she n MIL got me a gift fr Lee Hwa... felt guilty cos d gift mus b pretty ex! our budget was actualli $50 per gift but d pearl earrings mus b more than $50 lor!! Oops...

4got to add me bot Dearie a Pierre Cardin pen as a xmas gift, it was given to him way b4 xmas n he chose it himself... he had wanted to get a pen which he can put in his shirt pocket n me decided to get it for him as a xmas pressie.

There's another xmas xchg tmr wif my ex-colligs n frenz fr PA... oso steamboat dinner n CL is gonna book a table for 6 @ Xian De Lai... hope can eat there dis time! =)

Baby @ 4mths =)

Went for gynae checkup @ 9.30am todae... hvg blood tests (for diabetes n HIV) todae too n nid to hv brf 2 hrs b4 n no food in between.... Dearie woke up @ 6.30am to make french toast n sandwiches wif cheese n egg, wif hot milo for brf =) finished brf @ ard 7.30am, jus nice =) me went back to bed for some more sleep b4 leaving for the appointment...

So happi n excited to finalli get 2c our little one again, after 1 mth.... been feeling slight movements inside my tummy... mus b our little one moving abt, asked Dearie to try feeling my tummy wheneva me sensed movements, but he couldnt feel anything, gues movements r stil too slight nw 2b noticeable on the outside... tdy, our little one was v active! @ 1 point, it stretched its hand out n spread its tiny fingers! it oso arched its back a couple of times during the scan! so cute! =)) Dr Lui said if we r lucky tdy, may b able 2c its sex, but lady luck nt our side tdy, couldnt see cos it kept showing us its buttock... haha! nxt month lor... =))

But we r nt realli bothered by its sex, as long as it's healthy, we r happi liao... =))

Hunger Pangs @ 4am...

Yesterdae woke up @ ard 4am... went for toilet break (which is quite frequent nowadays)... tossed n turned on bed cos couldnt sleep n hungry... woke Dearie up fr his deep sleep (he seemed 2b hvg nice dreams cos he was smiling)... told him couldnt sleep n hungry... asked whether me wanted to order McDelivery! hee... told him betta to drink milk... so he got up, went to kitchen to boil water n prepared half a cup of milk for me (cos oredi took 1 cup b4 gg to sleep)... after hvg the milk, slept v well til 7.30am dis morn... =)

Oso got down to trimming my nails last nite =) Dearie helped me trim my toe nails cos a bit difficult for me... heheh... trimmed my own fingernails =) hope he wun find it too much of a chore... =P

Weekend that passed...

wow! time realli flies during weekends, n the exact opposite jus happens during weekdaes... last weekend flies past w/o realising it...

on sat morn, had wanted to hv breakfast king meal @ BK, but by the time aft seeing Jin Yi Shi (seeing both gynae Dr Lui & Chinese Sinseh dis time round, for maximum care =P), BK breakfast had turned into BK lunch liao... so, we had lunch (mushroom swiss meal for me n turkey bacon meal for Dearie) @ Raffles City BK... Dearie changed one of the fries to onion rings... so nice! aimed to hv it again later in the dae... =P after lunch, we went hm to relax... but Dearie did housework 1st, while me played Phoenix Wright on my Nintendo DS b4 falling asleep on bed... Thx again, Dearie, for taking over all housework!

watched "Golden Compass" wif Dearie's buddies @ 8.15pm @ GV tiong bahru plaza... went there earli cos me wanted to hv BK onion rings... so continued on my DS game while munching on the onion rings, fries, n minute maid orange juice... until Dearie received an sms from his buddy, Soh, who asked abt dinner... we were shocked cos dunno he's back from his training liao... so he quickly called Ongwei who confirmed dat Soh & Karina oso joining us for dinner n movie.. haha! nearli 4got to mention dat a little boy had suddenly came close to me while playing on the DS! got me shocked beyond words when he suddenly walked away from his mum n came to look @ wat me playing on the DS! Dearie was quite calm thou, he said the little boy had meant no harm... true but stil, u noe...

found "Golden Compass" ok onli... hmm... think "Lord of the Ring" & "Stardust" hv spoilt me in terms of fantasy movies... nevertheless, gonna read the books too...

on sun morn, we had breakfast @ United Sq Swensens... so nice n yummy! me ordered Florida Toast Set while Dearie ordered Tennessee Toast Set... was attracted by the cheesy sausages n french toast stuffed wif cheese n ham... realli nice! itz healthy too, coupled wif orange juice n 2 sunny side eggs (which were nt too raw luckily)... =) had alwiz wanted to try Swensens breakfast, glad able to try it ydae.

aft breakfast, went my parents' for lunch, mum cooked yong tau foo soup, steamed fish n bot roasted duck.... nice! Dearie was bz wif picking bones outta the fish for me, Ger n Ah Bee... hee! mum oso gave us egg noodles as we gonna laze @ hm n cook dines.... on our way hm (hvg jus turned into Balestier Road), mum called me, saying dat my neighbour had cooked lotsa food, knowing dat me wil b hm on sun but b4 she finished preparing the food, we had left oredi... hmm... too bad, nxt week lor...

for dinner, Dearie n me prepared tog... long time since we prepared meals @ hm... think onli time we cooked since me got pregnant was whn Dearie prepared cheese omelette for me whn me suddenly got hungry @ say 3/4pm on weekends... we stopped preparing meals @ hm cos my appetite n food cravings r realli erratic, sometimes want rice, sometimes noodles, sometimes sandwiches... till Dearie gave up... haha! =)

MIL's birthday

Ydae was my MIL's bdae... she had also invited Dearie's aunt n god-daughter to her bdae bbq... but it was raining (in fact, been raining non-stop since noon)... so the outdoor bbq was changed to indoor 'bbq' where MIL 'bbq' the pork chop, sausages, lamb chop, chicken chop n otah in her newly bot oven... =P jus as yummy n delicious as outdoor bbq!

Parents-in-law oso bot satay to go along wif the 'bbq-ed' food. =) as me stil hvg cough, cant take the chicken n lamb chops... MIL purposely ordered pork satay, pork chop for me... she oso specially prepared the pork stuff 4me 1st b4 preparing the other food... hee!

We shared a Swarovski crystal of a little cow ("Little Miss Moo") for her while Dearie's aunt n god-daughter gave her a tefal pan... she was delighted wif the gifts... she said the little cow would improve her relations wif rats... apparently horses dun get along well wif rats... but cos she wil b taking care of our little one (rat) nxt year, she wanna hv gd relations wif him/her i guess... we toking abt chinese zodiac signs here... hee!

hee... a few ppl hv been asking me whether me expecting... during the 1st trimester, me had jus smiled n din commit anything... =P

nw dat me into the 2nd trimester (13 weeks n counting), can share d good news oredi! yes yes, me expecting! =)) so excited to hv our little one growing inside me!! my body is creating a miracle, as dearie said! wonderful 2c my tummy growing everydae.... haha!

been hvg morning sickness (or rather "every moment of the dae sickness" since 1.5mths) n it gets worse towards the evening! but discomfort aside, we are both v excited n looking forward to Jun 08! EDD cld b earli Jun, who noes may deliver close to or even on my bdae! hee! =)

dearie has been reading bedtime stories to our little one b4 both of us go to sleep... we hv oso gone to Borders to purchase new storybooks, apart from the old books my siblings n i hv read whn we were young once.. hee! dis is our form of pre-natal education for our little one, hope we will b able to provide a great loving environment for him/her! =)

our matchmaker, Jieying, is gonna b our little one's godma! she is veri excited too! =))

Hero

Watched "Hero" on Sat nite wif Dearie n his 2 buddies... Wei Ming said dun nid to book thou we watching @ Vivo @ around 9pm, shld hv tics over the counter... But we dun believe, cos how can? Itz weekend n somemore Vivo! Luckily, Dearie checked the net n saw the cinema @ Vivo onli had 1st 4 rows empty! Aiyo! Of cos dun wanna sit so near! So Dearie booked tics @ Great World instead... =p Heng ah... scarly, reach Vivo, after spending a long time looking for carpark lots, no tics left liao...

Thou we din watch the serial, we find the show quite funni! =) MIL purposely lent us VCDs to watch @ hm so dat we wil hv an idea of wat the show is abt... But we din hv enuff time to watch, so decided to watch the movie wif a fresh perspective, n mebbe watch the serial later... =)

Dearie had wanted to change his corporate plan wif Singtel to a cheaper plan... after queueing for abt 45mins @ Hello Bugis Junction, the staff told us he could gif us a queue no but wil nid to wait 2hrs for our turn! So long! They should hv jus told us whn we were queueing n nt drop a bombshell on us whn itz our turn! So "inefficient"!

Tmr, both of us r taking leave for my medical check-up @ NUH, so gonna take the opportunity to change the plan tmr, since itz a weekdae tmr, so shld hv less ppl... *keeping fingers crossed*

Egg Dish

Went back to my parents' plc for lunch on Sun, mum cooked yong tau foo soup, fried egg wif minced meat n steamed fish for lunch... nothing beats home-cooked food! =)

My youngest bro, Ah Bee, particularly loved the egg! can tell fr the way he ate the egg! =) He took 1 big piece of egg fr the main dish n put on his bowl of rice... then he continued taking egg from the main dish w/o touching the piece in his bowl... when we asked him y he din eat the piece in his bowl, he said he wanna eat the small small pieces of the main dish 1st... when he finalli took the last piece of egg fr the main dish, he asked my younger sis to finish the remaining bits while he started eating the piece in his bowl... so innocent n cute! he looked so satisfied aft finishing the egg! =)

My parents oso remarked his fav dish is fried egg, nt steamed egg, nt hard-boiled egg but onli fried egg... he wld b contented wif fried egg n rice for any meal n if there's a plate of fried egg in front of him, he wld slowly eat n finish the egg b4 consuming the rice.... meaning he wld finish the good stuff 1st, unlike me who leaves the good stuff to the last =) Dad said he oso loves fried carrot cake! he can finish 1 packet of fried carrot cake all by himself! =)

Stiff Shoulder Today =(

So sad, woke up wif a stiff shoulder today... my right shoulder is super stiff and tight... veri uncomfy now... when I twisted myself, can hear some soft clickings at the shoulder...

Actually last nite, b4 sleeping, oredi felt my back stiff n tight... Dearie tried massaging for me but stil v tight n stiff... after a while, jus fell asleep on my side...

Eddie & Joanne's Wedding

We attended Dearie's buddy's wedding luncheon on 11 Nov 07, Sunday at Marina Mandarin Hotel. Same hotel where we held our wedding dinner last year but in a different ballroom... Their's was held at the bigger ballroom downstairs while ours was held at the smaller one on the 2nd floor...

Their invitation card design is the same as ours... remember the other choice for us last year was a red design, which we found not nice... not sure if the choices are the same dis year... din c our wedding coordinator, Ms Sen Ng, around... their wedding coordinator is another lady called Fiona... not sure if Sen has left (cos heard turnover rates veri high, judging from Cheong Ling's experience =P)

Dearie was the xiongdi as well as the emcee during the luncheon... think cos they have fewer xiongdis & jiemeis, so the games played in the morning were tamer... unlike ours which involved dancing, running off to buy 4D and wearing disposable panties... heehee! but 1 game they played was veri innovative - the jiemeis froze the key to the house, with some other keys, in a block of ice... the xiongdis were supposed to melt the ice in order to retrieve the key... but in the end, none of the keys could open the door! haha! they nid to gif more $$$ in order to get in... at the bedroom door, they nid to sing Joanne's fav song n Eddie even added his own actions to the song! v funni n cute!

Dearie's performance as emcee was a dry run for Nicholas who will be holding his wedding dinner next year Sept. Nicholas decided that during his wedding next year, he would not gif Dearie script cos he found it quite restrictive n din hv the freedom to fa1 hui1... haha! but Dearie made a gablah @ the start of the luncheon where he greeted everybody good morning when it shld be good afternoon... heehee! but all in all, went well... =)

The couple shld most probably b enjoying their honeymoon @ Mauritius now.. =)

Nice Movie - Stardust

Jus came back after watching "Stardust" @ Suntec City. Veri veri nice movie! So magical, peppered wif humour... particularly like watching fantasy movies, n Dearie oso agreed itz nt a wrong choice =)

Had wanted to watch "The Game Plan", a comedy, but the timing a tad too late, so decided to watch "Stardust" instead... oso wanted to use the movie passes which Dearie bot b4 they expire nxt yr...

Me felt like hvg dinner @ Pizza Hut... we ordered a Meat Galore pan pizza n a Hut's Platter... service was surprisingly good @ the outlet @ Suntec City, veri unlike the other outlets we went where the service was realli lousy.... impressed wif the food n speed which it came! =) the quantity we ordered was jus nice too, nt too much dat we felt bloated... felt veri happi n satisfied after the dinner =)

After dinner, we watched "Stardust"... for those of u who like watching fantasy movies, can try watching it =) After the show, felt like hvg McDonald's chicken nuggets, so we went to the Drive-thru McDonald's @ East Coast Park... yum! fed Dearie while he drove us home... Had alwiz liked McDonald's fast food compared to other fast food... dunno y... hee...

Wonder if tmr nite, we wil go for a nite drive n again Drive-thru McDonald's somewhere? haha!

Relaxing Weekend

Last weekend was realli relaxing...

On Friday nite, we played card games @ Dearie's buddy's (Weiming) plc... his gf, Elizabeth, came to Singapore for a visit n he invited us to his place for a get-together n card games... we played "Munchkin" and "Saboteur". Me sorta won during the 1st game, wif Dearie's help, cos got a bit lost towards the end of the game... haha! For the 2nd game, me & Dearie were Saboteurs for a few rounds, quite fun collaborating to prevent the other miners fr reaching the gold... hee...

We ended @ abt 2am? Too tired n hungry to go on... haha! Dearie n me went to buy MacDonald's @ West Coast Mac Drive-Thru... ordered Fillet O Fish (me), Cheeseburger (Dearie) n fries w/o salt (shared)... fed Dearie fries while he drove us hm.... ate our burgers while watching "Friends" DVD... then put on our eye masks for a gd long sleep...

Woke up to Dearie's hp alarm @ 11.30am on Sat cos got an appointment @ 12.30pm... in the evening, Dearie met his buddies @ Boat Quay to watch the football match between Liverpool n Everton... me din go n stayed @ hm to catch up on my "Date wif Vampire" DVD... quite nice to stay @ hm n spend some alone time... Dearie came back hm in hi spirits @ around 11pm... glad his team won... hee!

On Sun, another relaxing dae where we watched a sitcom "Dharma n Greg" @ his parents'... veri funni, abt married life... din finish Season 1 @ his parents' n brot the DVD back hm... Dearie said he used to watch bits n pieces when his dad watched, but din realli get to appreciate it then, cos nt married... nw dat he's married, he's able to appreciate the DVD more... hee!

Wedding & ROMs

Been a while since I updated my blog...

Dearie went for his buddy's Bachelor's Nite @ JB 2 weekends ago and me attended my oldest pal's (Changling & Roderick) wedding dinner @ Meritus Mandarin. My ex-colligs fr PA all asked about him and Melvin even commented dat since he went JB, mus b notty there... but me hv complete faith n trust in Dearie, so wun nid to wori... =)

Changling looked so dazzling and pretty in her wedding gown! =) She oso engaged a 'live' band during her wedding dinner, where a couple sang 23 songs (specially chosen by Changling) throughout the dinner! Nice songs... think wld b a nice idea to have a 'live' band (her wedding) n 'live-feed' photography (my wedding) in 1 wedding dinner (mebbe Tricia's?)! =) Oso had fun catching up wif ex-colligs from PA, like Tricia, Sharon and Melvin... cos we sat tog @ 1 table... so in effect, we had food for 10 ppl! haha!

On the 'live-feed' photography by Willie Foo, Dearie n me wil b meeting him again during his buddy (Jang & Joanne) wedding on 11 Nov 07 @ Marina Mandarin Hotel... same hotel as our wedding dinner, but dis time is luncheon n held @ the bigger ballroom downstairs... oso, Dearie dis time wil b one of his brothers n emcee during the luncheon... looking forward to dis union! Hope Willie wil stil remember us!

Last weekend, oso attended our matchmaker (Jieying and Sean) ROM luncheon @ Rochestor Park. Dearie is the videographer for dis impt chapter in their lives, but we arrived late, luckily the solemniser arrived even later! haha! When we reached, he was nt there yet, so Dearie was still able to take some clips of her guests n of the couple mingling wif the guests... he was oso able to take clips of them marching in and signing the certificate =) Sean oso had a surprise for Jieying where he sang a song to her... was v touched by dis act n got a tad too emotional @ times.. hee! The video which Dearie took wil b our special gift 4 them. =)

Hen Nite for my Pri Sch Pal

My old pal from Primary School, Cheong Ling, is getting married next Sat =) Very happy for her!

Another of our Primary School pal, Ying Hui, purposely organised a Hen Nite for her last Friday n Cheong Ling invited her close ger pals to join her. Ying Hui booked a room at Swissotel The Stamford where we had dines inside the room, took fotos in different permutations before proceeding to Gotham Penthouse (http://www.gothampenthouse.com.sg/) for a nite of wild fun.

Haha! Itz the first Hen Nite me hv attended... quite an eye opener for me when me saw the exotic dances at Gotham Penthouse. Had watched exotic dances @ The Neptune Restaurant b4 too but this time is much nicer. There are 3 dance shows on Mon-Sat at 10pm, 12mn n 2am. The 5 dancers hv well-toned bodies n their dance moves r sensual... hee! Think such dances r nt so popular in Singapore yet, but quite surprised 2c many gers there! Some gers mus b getting married soon cos they distinguish themselves by either donning tiaras or wearing hairbands wif veil etc... my fren had a cute badge... hee! Whenever the exotic dances r on, there wil b squeals fr the ger audiences... Dearie asked whether me screamed, of cos nt.. haha!

1 ger's frenz actualli asked one of the dancers to perform a special dance for her! Wow! We were very lucky cos these gers shared the same table as us... so when the dancer pulled a chair over n propped it against the wall, we were able 2c most of the dance moves! Ooh La La!

Yesterdae we went to my In-laws' place for dines... we have been going back once a week for dines as she thot we should have some hm-cooked food n soup @ least once a week. =) She din prepare dang gui soup for me cos too heaty, instead we had lian ou soup =)

After dat, we went People's Park OG to collect my new wallet =) MIL had 30 points remaining in her old OG card (points will be expiring by end Sept so need to accumulate enuff points in the card so as to redeem stuff). Me had been eyeing a long wallet (quite nice design, with quilt-like patterns on it). She had oso bot a 'shorter' one for herself n knew me eyeing the longer design, so she ordered for me a new piece wif People's Park OG. =) Wanted to pay for it myself, but she said it would b a gift 4me n me can get her a gift in future =P

So wif the purchase of dat wallet, her card accumulated 120 points, making the total balance 150 points. 150 points can redeem a tower fan, which we wanted for our hm, making the no. of fans a grand total of 6! haha! 6 fans for 2 ppl! =) We still need to top up $25 in cash to redeem the fan... which makes the cost of the fan $1525... haha!

4got to add the carpark @ People's Park OG is at B2 n we need to take the car lift down... my 1st time in taking a car lift! We were so scared that our car may b hit by the lift door as our car is too near the door or wat... Hee! There's a carpark attendant at the entrance of the carpark (no EPS system) who will issue parking coupons and guide the cars to the car lift. Inside the car lift, we merely felt the car shaking a bit as the lift went down. Kinda scary as what should we do if the car lift were to break down? Haha! But fun experience...

Back hm, me immediately transferred my stuff from my old wallet to the new wallet... Dearie said nw, both me n his mum hv couple wallets.. asked him whether he jealous... he said yup... told him to complain to his mum lor n he said dun wan, wait kena scolding fr his mum... heehee!

New Home For Dearie's Transformers

Dis morning, we had dim sum breakfast wif his parents & sis @ Red Star Restaurant... impressed by the size of the restaurant n service of the waitresses... the restaurant is realli huge n lucky we arrived earli as the restaurant was nt so packed then... the waitresses pushed food trolleys around, stacked wif dim sums n their specialty which apparently r onli prepared on weekends... had a realli nice n full breakfast of siew mai, har gao, chee cheong fun wif char siew, century egg porridge, glutinous rice, egg tarts n many more... yum!

After breakfast was grocery shopping @ Suntec Carrefour b4 cmg hm to wait for our new display cabinets fr IKEA n TV console fr Novena Holdings Ltd.... Nw, Dearie's Transformer Toys finalli hv a home to call their own, instead of being kept in boxes n stacked temporarily on the study table... hee! The glass display cabinet was placed in the study room where Dearie kept all his Optimus Prime toys n called it the Prime Collection... There's still 1 shelf empty, Coming in Xmas? haha!

Cooked Herbal Chicken Soup n Xiao Bai Cai wif oyster sos n rice 4 our dines... played the new games (Munchkin Fu & Citadels) which Dearie bot too, while waiting for the TV console to arrive... the delivery men called to say they will b delayed cos of the heavy rain in the morning.... *scratch scratch*, cos the rain had stopped by evening time... anyway, we waited till abt 7pm b4 they finalli arrived n fixed up the console... we could onli settle down to hv our dines @ abt 9pm plus cos stil nid to vacuum the floor, wipe the console n shelves after they assembled n left...

Hee, Dearie gave me 1 cabinet (the one wif fewer shelves) to store my Pooh Bear stuff... =) He kept the other cabinet for his toys... so happi! Now, all my Pooh Bear collection is stored there, instead of being cluttered in the display cabinet we bot fr IKEA when we 1st moved in... =) Nice big home for both our favourite toys... haha!

Long Weekend =)

Had a veri wonderful long weekend wif Dearie =) Itz our 2nd year ROM anniversary on Sun (9.9.07) and his birthdae yesterdae (10.9.07) So purposely took leave ydae to kip him company as he has birthdae off! remember @ PA, me oso had birthdae off, & if birthdae falls on non-working daes, can claim 1 dae off in lieu on some other weekdae too! =) Too bad nw dun hv oredi...

Anyway, on Sat, aft hvg bak kut teh breakfast (weekly affair but dis Sat, we gonna hv sth diff - dim sum @ Red Star Restaurant), we went shopping a while b4 mtg his uni honours frenz for 2hrs of gaming @ Settlers Cafe @ Clarke Quay =) V fun! More ppl more fun! Hee! Dearie oso bot a card game - Saboteur... too bad cant play by 2 ppl, the more the merrior... At about midnite, me gave Dearie a gift for our anniversary... a caricature of us, drawn by my talented collig, Yong Kuan =) me jus gave him a foto of us n he realli put his creative juices to wk! We are princess n prince in the pic! Dearie said he wil replace the jigsaw puzzle me made 4him wif dis pic which me framed up in his offc =) He was veri surprised on receiving d gift... we oso relived our ROM memories n flipped through our ROM foto album =) 2 years liao... how time flies!

On Sun, after paying respects to his late grandparents, we had lunch (Jap Tonkatsu) wif his parents n aunt @ The Central.. yumz! veri nice, nt too oily, in jus the rite amount... Dearie's sis gave him a Transformers Monopoly Game! =) Nw, he has been collecting lotsa Transformers toys (which he wil hate me for saying so) =P cos he prefers to call them collectibles.. haha! Me been an accomplice as his sis asked me whether he bot any yet n asked me to kip it a secret til his birthdae... hee! Me bot him a Transformers collectible, whose home is gonna b ready dis Sat =) Oso ordered another display cabinet fr IKEA, which is oso gonna b delivered dis Sat =) Gonna hv fun over dis weekend displaying our stuff (Pooh bear for me n transformers for Dearie)

Once hm, we tried playing the Monopoly.. realli fun! haha! me chose Bumblebee while he chose Starscream... good vs bad... hee! seems like me gonna win... good triumphs over evil =P we stil hvn finished the game n hv left on our dining table, can continue wheneva we hv the time =) Stil remember whn young, if couldnt finish my jigsaw puzzle, gotta pick up the pieces block by block, return to box whn mum wanna sweep or mop the floor... but nw, so much more convenient! =)

Yesterdae, on Dearie's birthdae, we watched Ratatouille in the morning @ PS GV... realli nice n cute! We oso helped an elderly couple purchase tics for 881 @ the machine as the Box Office was nt opened yet... so envious... hope whn we grow old tog, we can oso b as lovey dovey as them... =) After shopping around @ PS, we went Raffles Town Club for hi tea =) a 3-tier snacks consisting of sandwiches, fruits, cakes... finalli got chance to eat as every time we went there, either too l8 or sold out...

All in all, been a veri nice long weekend of celebrations, relaxing n er4 ren2 shi4 jie4 =)

Durian Fried Rice

Ever had durian fried rice? Me n MIL jus shared 1 serving of durian fried rice @ Central @ Vivocity! Yumz! Dearie is super scared of the smell of durian n immediately sat further from the rice.. haha!

When the waitress opened the lid, the fragrant smell of durian immediately filled d air! wow! so fragrant n delicious itz taste is! Wif every mouthful, u can actualli feel the taste of durian both in ur mouth as well as smell it in ur nose! Such a unique n special dish, both me n MIL felt... but Dearie dun feel the same way... haha!

Central oso serves chuan4 chuan4, where items such as prawn balls, fish balls, rolls r put tog on a stick, n dipped in clear soup, braised soup or chilli based soup... quite special... sold @ $1.80 each or 3 @ $5... u can even add $2 n hv it wif noodles!

After hvg dines, we went back to my in-laws @ The Caribbean, where me had dang1 gui1 tang1, prepared by MIL. =) Weekly soup...

Neo-Card Machines

it has been our tradition to take neo-cards during our monthly anniversaries... so on 3rd Sept, our 88th month anniversary, we went to our fav stop @ bugis junction... but alas the shop space is under renovation n there is no mention of when the renovations wil end... seems like the shop wil b changed some more! =(

luckily we recalled dat there is such a shop @ the heeren... so off we go after having our fav beef bowl @ yoshinoya. dearie had it normal while me had it wif chilli flakes... yumz! the heeren has changed so much since the last time we went (has it been 1 year?)... hmmz... cant rem... anyway, luckily the shop is stil there! but seems kinda haunted, wif no ppl frequenting... who noes in the near future, such shops wil b totalli phased out? then wat wil happen 2us when we wanna take neo-cards during our monthly anniversary? dearie suggested using our digital camera to take our pics.. haha! so funni!

mus make mental note to take note of such shops the next time we pass by any in future... hee!

We had dines @ Muthu's Curry Restaurant yesterdae... itz along Race Course Road (Little India) n the food was veri nice!! =)

There were many cars parked illegalli n we couldnt find a lot then... saw valet parking service n decided to gif it a try... guess how much the charge was? itz up 2u to gif! We were quite surprised as we thot there should be a fixed charge for valet parking...

Apparently the Restaurant had undergone a revamp recently, now, it is air-conditioned n has expanded itz area... we ordered chennai cabbage curry, chicken tandoori, mutton curry, nasi briyani n garlic n butter naans... yummy! nt too hot for Dearie too...

By the way, his fren received a Singtel brochure but he couldnt understand it... itz all printed in tamil! hee! Even the brochures r specialli printed for a specific audience! =P

Piglet has a bath...

It was beginning of the month yesterdae n we changed our bedsheets... Think mus hv accidentalli left Piglet amongst the bedsheets when me brot the whole stack to the washing machine...

When the laundry was done n me airing the bedsheets, suddenli something pink rolled out... guess wat?!?! It was Piglet!! Got me shocked!!

Luckily, Piglet was not spoilt or anything... the fur/hair was not ruffled and the wiring in the ears was not broken... Heehee!!

So funni, now, Piglet is being aired... n clean clean, like wat Dearie is saying now... haha!!

Dearie Toys Home

Hee! Dearie Toys gonna hv new homes soon! Instead of staying in their boxes in a corner of our study table, they are soon 2b shifting to their new home - a new TV console cum display cases!

Before our Hokkaido Trip, we have oredi asked Chris to do some measurements of the study room and to start designing the display cabinet for his toys, but it has been about a month nw n stil no news from him... in fact, when Dearie asked him about the cabinet, he had said he would email us the drawings last Wed, but nopez, the email neva arrived... =( So instead of waiting idly, we decided to look around at shops....

Today, we started looking around at the Courts SuperStore near AMK Hub and saw 1 which is quite nice... cost $699... but we decided to shop around more in case we come across other nicer ones... indeed, at the Novena Holdings @ the Furniture Mall, we saw 1 which is nice! Had wanted to get dat, but came across a TV console cum display cases which is veri veri nice and "da fang"! Costs onli $699, about the same price as a normal display cabinet... but dis is much betta, killing 2 birds wif 1 stone! Both of us like it veri much, were nearli on the verge of signing liao, but decided betta come back to take measurements 1st, in case it cant fit into our living room... hee!

Luckily, the measurements were jus nice! =) We r going to the Novena Holdings at Balestier (nearer our home) later to place our order... =P Strike the iron while it is stil hot yah? But gonna request for the delivery date 2b after the 7th month....

Movie "Hairspray"

So coincidental! We were at my in-laws (The Caribbean, near Vivocity) for dinner on Wed when Dearie received a sms from his collig about free movies passes to the movie "Hairspray" at Vivocity!

As the movie is a musical comedy, wif John Travolta acting a lady, me got v excited... so we accepted her invitation immediately since we were so near Vivocity. =) It's organised by the Lexus Club as part of some Lexus Club event... we were thinking we dun drive Lexus, wil we b left out/discriminated... haha!

The movie is realli hilarious! Veri upbeat n energetic! Realli worth watching n we were realli lucky to have free movie passes! As it was organised by the Lexus Club, the adverts b4 the show r all Lexus adverts =) There were no trailers too... Each guest has a free coke n popcorn! =) Long time hvn relaxed liao... Had a fun n hilarious time!

Hee, hv been frequenting Settler's Cafe wif frenz lately...

Seems like Settler's Cafes are not the onli such games-themed cafes around in Singapore... in fact, there are also others like Oasis Board game Cafe & The Mind Cafe which me n my ex-colligs from SMRT nearli went last Sat! =P

Feel such Cafes are gd places to hang out wif frenz, whr u can play games (which r quite interesting n hard to find in shops outside) & hv drinks/food... d packages provided r pretty flexible... depending on ur nids then, u can choose to take whichever package suits u...

Hv played childhood games like "Monopoly" & games that realli test ur reflexes, like "Ugly Doll" & another game to do with hands (forgot the name totalli)... there are oso strategy games like "Saboteur"... oso played games dat test ur luck n hand steadiness in a way, like "Uno Stacko"...

Been to 2 Settler's Cafes so far, prefer the outlet near Clarke Quay. =) Staff there r more responsive when u press the bell for assistance... compared to the other outlet (which me wun say which one), u can press the bell till dunno how long but the staff will either b too busy n din hear the bell... wait till neck long long still no assistance rendered...

NDP 2007 on water

Wow! The NDP 2007 was spectacular! =) The Committee realli made full use of the vast skyline, water, and even the bridge in the performances! Soproud of being a Singaporean! Were clapping and singing along to the national day songs, national anthem and pledge recitation @ home... Hee!

This year, Dearie and me stayed @ home to watch the Parade on TV, instead of going out to catch the 'live' fireworks from somewhere near the Parade. @ home, we can hear the planes fly past above our flat n c part of the fireworks from the kitchen... but most of the low ones are blocked by the buildings except for some high ones which we can c part or whole of them above the buildings.

Look forward to another exciting and spectacular parade next year! Hope can get tickets to the Parade next year! Forgot to mention Mum got 2 tickets thru the balloting me applied for her n my sis n bro went =) Gues they mus hv had gr8 fun!

Wedding Reception on 11 Jul 07

A 2nd wedding reception in a garden setting we hv attended so far... On 11 Jul 07, we attended Dearie Bro, Soh's & Karina's wedding at Mandai Orchid Garden! It was Dearie's 3rd thou, whr the one he attended alone was at Fort Canning Park, he said it was very hot n uncomfy...

Luckily the ones we attended together as a couple @ Botanic Garden Au Jardin last year & Mandai Orchid Garden on 11 Jul were nice =)

We oso took a few pics of the surroundings, so as to serve as a reference for 1 of my jiemeis, Jieying, who is currently doing some research on possible venues for her ROM in Oct 07! So happi 4 her! =)

Similarly to wedding banquets, the couple oso had champagne toasting n cake cutting... however, the emcee toked too softly n nobody shouted "yam seng" which was a bit funni n disoriented... they oso walked down the aisle scattered wif orchid petals on the floor... the wedding planner oso gave us packets of orchid petals for us to scatter as the couple walked down the aisle... Dearie was v notti n "took revenge" on the groom who had thrown flower petals on his face whn we got out of our wedding car last year... haha!

the wedding flavour was a small pot of plant for each guest... the wedding planner specifically instructed us to transfer the plant to a bigger pot when we get home for the plant to grow & thrive... the groom jokingly told us dat wedding flavours at Mandai Orchid Garden are pots of plants whereas it could be some other unique flavour at the Mandai Zoo!

Wedding Reception on 7 Jul 07

7 Jul 07, a significant date to tie the knot wif ur loved ones...

It was Sleepytoon's ROM in the afternoon whr she onli invited her relatives and closest frenz... she has promised that she wil invite us to her wedding =) @ nite, we attended my mother-in-law best fren daughter wedding dinner @ Club Chinois @ Orchard Parade Hotel.

She had held her ROM @ Botanic Gardens Au Jardin Restaurant last year, oso another significant date on 11 Nov 06... so during her wedding dinner, she showed the video of her ROM on 11 Nov 06... but she din show those foto videos of their childhood, pak-tor daes etc, which me been looking fwd to...

Her "evening gown" is quite special, instead of changing into an evening gown b4 her 2nd march-in, she jus put on a tiny translucent jacket over her gown, magically turning into an evening gown! Idea hor?

Her wedding nite brot back memories of our wedding nite too... hee... come to think of it, ours realli v funni... alot of speeches, jokes, sabo by Dearie's platoon mates n colligs n my ex-PA cohort mates... on top of dat, we hv Willie Foo taking fotos n putting them "live" on the screen on stage for everyone's viewing pleasure...

We oso saw our wedding videographer, Chris during her wedding! So qiao! Apparently, he's so popular dat the wedding couple had to book him more than a year ago! =P

Transformers Toys

Dearie finalli bot his long-awaited Transformers Toys, which he has been eyeing for quite a while since the release of the movie! Even way before the movie was released, we have seen the toys being displayed in major toy stores.... but when he finalli decided to get the Optimus Prime, it is off the shelves oredi and the other one he is eyeing left onli1 on the shelf... which is kinda 'used' wif so much finger fiddling by customers young n old...

Today, he finalli bot the Optimus Prime n Barricade toys! =) He managed to get them from the toy shop above Borders @ Wheelock Place... luckily new stock arrived today so that he can get his hands on them...

He's nw trying to transform Optimus Prime into the red truck... haha!! So engrossed, constantly looking @ the instruction manual while fiddling wif the toy... I oso tried transforming Barricade earlier from the police car to the robot itself... but failed miserably... halfway, Barricade looked so strange, wif the police car body n robot legs underneath... haha!! transformation failed miserably! Dearie subsequently tried n he succeeded! =P

Looks like we nid to get another display cabinet from IKEA, to add to our current 2 in the living room... Dearie said to have 1 solely for his toys while the other 2 wil b next to his (one on each side), wif all my Pooh n other cutesy stuff... hee

Fun with our new camera =)

We bot our 1st digital camera last sun @ Funan Harvey Norman! Fujifilm FinePix F40fd. Slim wif nice curves, which immediately cot my eye. Cost us $460, bundled wif a 1GB SD card & a pouch =) Several nice functions, including taking fireworks! We get to experiment wif dis function yesterdae evening @ Plaza Singapura... After parking our car, we heard 'bong bong!' & guess wat, we saw fireworks in the sky from the carpark! It was NDP Rehearsal yesterdae n we were realli lucky to get 2c the fireworks... the shots of the fireworks were nt bad, but nid to hv real 'steady' hands to take the pics...

@ least we noe whr we can view fireworks during the NDP dis year! =) My mum is very lucky to get the tics n my younger sis n bro wil b going to watch... my sis, especially, was v excited!

Yesterdae afternoon, we oso went to Fort Canning Park n ROM, not to renew our vows, but to try out our new camera. Check out some of the shots we took:

Took the nice pretty flowers, oso tried to take pics of the butterflies fluttering among the flowers as well as 1 tree lizard camouflaged wif the bark of a tree... but we were too slow, b4 Dearie was able to aim, they either fluttered or scurried off... too bad...

No idea y but yesterdae, my eyelids kip twitching... so weird n kinda irritating cos in the midst of doing something, eyelid jus start to twitch...

1st it was my right eyelid, then followed by my left eyelid... whole dae was spent wif my eyelid twitching in between work...

1 collig said could b cos me din hv enuff sleep the previous nite... 1 said ear itching is cos someone misses u, sneezing often is cos someone scolds u, but he cant remember wat eyelid twitching means...

Belated Wedding Anniversary Wishes

Received 2 belated wedding anniversary wishes today from our matchmaker, Jieying and wedding videographer, Christopher from HiLo Productions!

So surprised that both of them still remember the date! Thanks!

Touched by Jieying's efforts to comfort me for my past months' sadness n her inability 2b there for me... though we onli chatted for a while on msn, it realli meant alot to me! =) Her msn pic is a nice beautiful rainbow, which she used to comfort n encourage me... on our way home from work, Dearie n me oso saw a rainbow, but no chance to take from the car cos the traffic lite was green by the time me realised the rainbow! Jus received a mms from Jieying wif a rainbow pic. 3 rainbows in a day! Touched! *sob sob* Dearie can onli hug n try to comfort me again...

Since our wedding last year, we have seen Christopher twice... oso during our frenz' weddings! His works n professionalism realli spread far n wide! Not expensive either... Interested frenz can get his contact from me... heheh!

One year since our customary

How time flies! It has been a year since we held our customary wedding on 10 Jun 06! =) Still remember clearly how I was treated like a princess by my make-up artiste, Ruth, and jiemeis! =) Wearing a tiara on my head with the white wedding gown, waiting in the bedroom for Dearie & his bros to get through the many obstacles @ my doorstep… actually we re-watched our wedding video the other dae n oh my! Jus brot wonderful memories back again! =) All in all, wedding & marriage have been a very wonderful experience for both of us!

This year, after Dearie finished his course-work, we went shopping @ Suntec City & Marina Square, followed by a nice dinner @ Billy Bombers @ Marina Square, “Shrek 3” @ Suntec, then Changi Village nasi lemak for supper over “Friends” on our red sofa @ home… We oso had dinner @ Billy Bombers @ Marina Square last year during our wedding dinner for frenz on 16 Jun 06… not really reliving the experience, but jus felt like having the nice, thick chocolate milkshake we haven’t had for a long long time…

Forgot to mention me got a new haircut too, a dae before my bdae! Asked my hairstylist for opinions of having a shorter bob… hv been having reservations of cutting my hair after having kept it long for so long… but my ends become very dry and wif the split ends, feel compelled to cut it short, but worried about my face roundness becoming more obvious… oso worried about the thickness of my hair becoming a hindrance wif the short bob… but luckily, my hairstylist noes wat to do… now, me feel so much lighter and fresher wif the new haircut! =)

One Year Older on 3 Jun

Thanks to all my frenz who remembered my bdae dis yr and sent me bdae smses! =)

Forgetful me 4got to bring my handphone home over the weekend n left it in office... my colligs who worked late on fri mus hv found it strange to hear a baby's cry (my sms tone) n pooh bear song (my ringing tone) when the phone rang on fri... tried to get my phone on sat but the high security in my office prevented me from getting in... even the security guards @ the lobby oso had no key access... alas, no phone over the weekend n bdae...

Dearie booked a 'surprise' hotel stay for me to celebrate my bdae... 1 year older again... sighz... we stayed @ the Scarlet Boutique Hotel near Maxwell Food Centre... itz a veri classy hotel, despite itz limited space... the room we had was very cosy, n the roof was shaped sloping down... the staff were very frenly too... we had dines @ Desire, a restaurant @ level one... deco is realli nice (black n red theme and sensuous) n staff had superb service attitude... the manager walked around, introducing the restaurant's specialty to us n asking our opinions of the food... coincidentally, there was a review in the Sunday Times on my bdae on the Desire too! Good place to go for nice ambience & food (thou quite ex - our meal costs $150)

Have a feeling that MediaCorp may use Desire as a venue for future shows... =P

We got our new car liao! A red Mitsubishi Colt Plus entered our lives officially on 23.5.07! =) Very sexy n round rear... the automatic tailgate realli is convenient for us, especially when we went grocery shopping n hands r full... jus a press of button on the carkey will automatically open the tailgate =P another press of button on the tailgate will automatically close the tailgate...

Dearie oso enjoys driving the car around... the technical terms he uses only leaves me, a non-driver, blur... but me enjoy being driven around... haha!! =) the car is quieter and a much smoother ride compared to Pooh-canto... =P At least, now his dad wun say he is driving a toy car... haha!!

Life is full of ups & downs

The above phrase really sums up what happen to me during these months… But I am really glad and fortunate to receive much support from my parents, in-laws, friends and most importantly Dearie!

Despite Dearie feeling sad himself, he put up a brave front for me and stood by my side, giving me comfort and hugs whenever I needed… how I wished the news had been a nightmare where I would wake up from and find myself on bed wif Dearie comforting me… but alas, it wasn’t…

Anyway, jus hv to look forward and put this behind us as much as we can… not easy thou…

Trying to get stronger by taking more tonics and DOM wine every nite b4 sleep… the wine tastes awful and neva fails to make me tear wif every small sip I take… vodka n chivas taste so much nicer! Haha!

Looking forward to this weekend! =) A special dae for me… & Dearie… wonder wat he has planned? =P

Home Alone - 1st Time

Dearie went JB yesterdae noon for one of his xiongdis' Bachelor's Gathering... he had wanted to bring me to stay over @ my parents... but me felt too troublesome cos onli for a nite... so decided to stay @ home myself.. he wil b coming back later in the noon & we gonna celebrate Mother's Dae together... hope he wun b cot in any jam along the causeway & get delayed...

had a bit of trouble falling asleep last nite, cos nt used to sleeping alone in our bed... smsed him n we chatted for a while... he was quite drunk by then (12am)... dis Bachelor's Gathering mainly consists of lotsa drinking (chivas / beer mixed wif special ingredients like milo powder, chocolate, kaya etc) after some shopping during the dae... Dearie started dis kinda Gathering trend when he was the 1st among his xiongdis to get married last year... dis year, there would be another such Gathering in Oct/Sept cos another of his xiongdis getting married in Nov... hope in Nov, me wil b able to attend his wedding which wil b held @ Marina Mandarin, same hotel where we held our wedding... but his is luncheon & wil b held @ the bigger ballroom on the 1st floor... =P

think 1 of my jiemeis is getting ROM soon! =) deduced so from the way she asked me about ROM procedures... congrats! U noe who U are! =)

Bye Bye to our Picanto soon…

Guess wat? We made our booking for our 2nd car yesterdae! Mitsubishi Colt Plus! A hatchback (which Dearie alwiz wants) wif sexy curves (which me like) and a spacious boot (which both of us want) So excited! We traded in our Picanto at $29,500 and took a bank loan of $20,000 over 5 years… our monthly payment only comes up to be a bit more than our current monthly payment to his dad… his whole family went down wif us yesterdae to make the booking… haha! Cos his dad is loaning us some money for the cash outfront payment, nid to get his ‘go-ahead’… he asked me whether me like the car… me nodded my head n asked him whether he liked, he said not him driving wat but betta than our current TOY CAR! Haha!! Picanto, to him, is a toy car!!

Our test drive yesterdae on the Colt Plus was very comfy, we were both impressed by the many gadgets of the car (suits Dearie who likes techy gadgetty stuff)… automatic folding side mirrors, automatic turning on of headlights in dark places, adjustable back seats, adjustable boot space, an electric tail-gate which can oso b operated with the remote control and several cup-holders which we felt kinda over-kill… hee… we wanted red mica for the car, but dis colour may be outta stock… may nid to change the colour so as to have the car delivered earlier, probably b4 jun. (after note: red mica is available and we may get our new family car in end may 07!)

Last nite, we oso tried to have our Picanto back to its original state b4 we added new stuff to it, cos the used car dealer will be taking fotos of it today… gonna take our own pictures too, as memento… we will oso be keeping our car-plate which costs us $100 retention fee… wil hv $300 RalliArt Vouchers, gonna buy stuff for our new car there… =P

4got to add Dearie oso test drove the Suzuki SX4 (which he loved the ride veri veri much but boot nt big enuff) & Honda Jazz (which was pretty ordinary)... come to think of it, dis family car came about after much serious looking around & test-driving =P

Fun Checking Out Cars!!

We had fun during the past 2 weekends… checking out cars at Showrooms at Leng Kee… our Picanto (changed name from Pooh-canto to Picanto cos Dearie removed the Pooh seat covers except for my seat prior to his ICT last month, as he din wanna b a source of ridicule by his platoon mates) thou cute and reliable, is too small for putting in a baby pram n shopping bags at the same time.. :P

When the Citroen C1 was first published in the newspapers 2 weekends ago, we found it cute n immediately went down to the showroom to take a look… we were the 1st customers interested in C1, which was not yet displayed in the showroom… the salesman, Sam, was surprised dat the newspaper reviews would attract so many customers as after us, many more customers came! Sam gave his boss a call n managed to get his boss to agree for us to have a test drive! We were so lucky to test drive it first! The shape of the C1 realli made heads turn when we drove it on the roads! Hee! But too bad the boot is stil pretty small, so no go…

Next, we went Toyota Showroom to take a look at the new Vios… looks really nice n futuristc thou Dearie remarked a little like mini Camry… n the boot is quite spacious… but Dearie finds the price a bit steep, tried looking at the old Vios, but no longer in stock, so onli the new Vios available in the market now, unless we buy 2nd hand? Oso looked at the Yaris, cos Dearie stil prefers hatchbacks to sedans… the Yaris looks more like a hamster compared to Picanto… heehee…

Last weekend, we went Showrooms again… dis time to Mitsubishi & Honda… at Mitsubishi, we took a look at Colt Plus and Lancer… Colt Plus is really spacious! Wow! Amazes us but the price is super steep! Lancer seems more affordable, but quite common on the roads in Singapore, a bit like taxis… haha! At Honda, we looked at Jazz n City… Dearie prefers Jazz to City cos itz hatchback n comes wif brighter n more cheerful colours… in addition, the boot is surprisingly v big for a hatchback! Oso met Dearie’s platoon mate who is currently driving a City now, n is looking at CRV now… his wife is oso preggers.. :P He asked us to hold on n nt commit to buying any car yet, cos he may b able to negotiate for a good deal on bulk orders.. haha! Dearie even thot of getting his City as our next car!

Long Weekend (Good Friday & Easter)

Time flies! Especially when we r hvg fun! The long weekend jus came & went….

On Friday, we went to Dearie platoon mate house for a gathering in the evening. In the afternoon, we went to Bugis to get our monthly neo-cards taken. The neo-card is now sitting on my office desk, in front of my photo-frames =) We chose the caption “April Fools Day”, since this is the month of April =P Dearie’s platoon mate, Roy, lives in an Executive Condominium @ Park Green @ Rivervale Link… His apartment is really very nicely done up, n the view from his master bedroom is awesome! It looks down to the swimming pool =) During this gathering, me met 2 former school mates from AHS… 1 is Dearie’s platoon mate, Kai Sheng while the other is Roy’s church fren, Gabriel. The world is so small! Gabriel remembered me while being introduced to each other… so coincidental, to think that he actually remembers me, thou we were in different classes, thou same year… as for Kai Sheng, he didn’t hv any recollections of me until Dearie asked him if he was oso fr AHS… then me told him me find him v familiar… hee… later @ nite, me dug out our year book n showed Dearie our fotos… oh my! We looked so ‘dood’ then! Haha!

As a form of ice-breaker game, we played a very fun game called “Guesstures”… check out the game ratings @ dis url! http://www.boardgameratings.com/game/98/ the game is really fun, where you have to act out the words on 4 cards within a certain time limit… as the word “Guesstures” implies, you have to use gestures and your group mates have to guess the words correctly. Note the pun here =P when it was my turn to act out the words, I was so nervous as worried will let my group down by nt being able to act our properly… @ the prompting of Roy (oso the game host), Dearie came up and gave me a reassuring peck of confidence =) luckily, my group was able to guess the 4 words correctly! *phew* din make a fool of myself or let my group down…

On Saturday, accompanied Dearie to the Chinese Sinseh again for his injured wrist which has not recovered to-date… he was given the same treatment and same medicine… yesterday, his wrist started to itch badly, we thot itz cos the injury is healing, datz y itchy… but yesternite, when he removed the bandage, we noticed the reason for his itch… not cos the injury is healing, but rather itz his skin being sensitive… there are small dots on his wrist, where the bandage used to be… sighz… wonder wat happened to his wrist, cos dis morning, he stil complained of pain whenever he moved his wrist! if condition still does not improve by this weekend, will go n c his family doctor @ Bukit Batok…

Sunday was spent doing housework… despite his injured wrist, Dearie still did the vacuuming while me ironed the clothes… me oso prepared our lunch of herbal chicken soup, salmon and long beans wif Japanese fish cakes… glad he liked dis home-cooked lunch =)

Poor Dearie…

Dearie sprained his left wrist last Friday during his badminton session wif his colligs @ Radin Mas CC… while ‘back-pedaling’, he fell backwards n he had used his left wrist to support himself…

So poor thing… apparently it had hurt so much even when he made small movements on his left wrist! but he din tell any of his colligs, except for 1 who saw him fall… the next dae, me accompanied him 2c a Chinese Sinseh near Lakeside MRT station… when he came out, his left wrist was wrapped wif a bandage under a white netting (which greatly resembles those netting that covers fruits @ fruit stalls)… there was a slight smell of Chinese herbs in the bandage too…. Later in the dae, some black stuff oozed out fr the bandage… hee… a bit gross… besides the bandage, dearie was oso given medicine. There was a big bottle of black mixture, which does not taste well, judging from the expression whenever he has to take 20ml of it! There were also 2 types of pills which he needed to take thrice a dae… at least the pills dun taste as bad as the mixture… but there’s a Chinese saying 良药苦口. In the end, to minimize the bad taste of the mixture, he gulped it down wif lotsa water b4 taking the pills… so that by the time he took the pills, the bad taste would hv been greatly diminished… me oso tried to gif him chocolates after his medication so dat he wun feel so depressed…

Yesterdae, he stil felt pain in the wrist… v worried for him cos dun wish 2 hv any bad repercussions for him when he got older… think during the coming weekend, if there is still no improvement, wil 'drag' him to visit the Chinese Sinseh again…. As a form of motivation, we wil hv his fav 斋米粉 @ Jurong East b4 visiting the Sinseh. =P

A New DS Game – Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

We bot a new DS game yesterdae… “Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney” – where u play the role of a lawyer, investigate cases, question witnesses in court n make use of the court evidences on hand to win all the 5 cases… it is really fun n exciting… in fact, for every mistake (in terms of objections raised or wrong evidence presented) made, our health level will be deducted… we cracked our brains tog last nite b4 gg to sleep n managed to crack 1 case! =)

Back from KL Trip on 26 Mar 07 and back to work the next dae

KL trip was fun, albeit a bit tiring… we took the 2-level Aeroline coach from Harbourfront Centre… the ride took us 5 hours… the seats were styled like those onboard planes… but wif more leg room… similarly, food, water and hot beverages were oso served on the coach… there is a toilet on board the coach, but very very small, and only for light usage, which the crew constantly emphasized to us… :P

Our hotel – Corus Hotel, is very conveniently located, just 5 minutes walk from the KLCC. We spent our 3 days window-shopping at KLCC, Berjaya Times Square (which is very big, but shops on the higher floors are still not opened), Bukit Bintang Plaza, Lot 10, Sungei Wang, and Chinatown… a lot of time was spent walking for many hours since mornings till late afternoons… our legs were so tired upon returning to hotel…

We wanted to visit the Petronas Twin Towers twice on Saturday and Sunday… but the 1,320 free tickets were fully distributed very early! On Sunday, we reached there just before 8.30am, the official time when the distribution started, but the queue was oredi super long, snaking nearly the whole of the holding area…. We thot should just have our breakfast 1st, then join the queue again…. But who knows by the time we had had our breakfast @ around 9.30am, all the tickets are oredi fully distributed! OMG! The wonders wat free stuff can do!

We reached Singapore on Monday, around 9pm… half an hour later than the estimated journey time, probably cos there was a slight jam at KL when we left the hotel… met his parents at the Caribbean for a while as we had parked Pooh-canto at their carpark during our trip… his parents oso hadn’t had dines, so we went for a late dines cum supper at Telok Blangah….

The very next dae, both of us went back to work… & me started my 1st dae @ work @ PMO PSD… initially wanna start work on 28 Mar 07, so as to have 1 more dae of rest after the KL Trip… but was asked to start work earlier as 27 Mar is the PSD Advance 2007, something of a Work Plan Seminar for the new FY ahead… so morning was spent in a bit of orientation around the office and setting up of my laptop… afternoon was spent at The Legends Fort Canning Park… so my 1st dae @ work was pretty “zo-bo”… most of the execs are very new too, while the support staff are more experienced… v typical of civil service…

Todae is heavier, wif my Reporting Officer briefing me on my duties… afterwhich was reading up on the many procedures and files so as to familiarize myself wif the work… seems challenging daes ahead….

Tmr is Dearie's last dae of ICT! =)

dearie's ict will end tomorrow evening... hope wun b too late... dis wil b the last ict for most of his platoon mates... while dearie stil has 2 more to go... he wil nid to join other platoons for his remaining 2 icts b4 he becomes a 'free' man! :)

we are quite lucky.... he's able to book out for most of the evenings... except dis tue n partial of tdy... when he books out in the evenings, he wil fetch me fr my parents' plc n we wil head hm tog.... the next morning, abt 5ish am, he wil bring me to my parents' plc again b4 he heads back camp... me wil continue to catch up on my sleep @ my parents' plc... :P tdy, he can book out but nids to book in @ 1am.... so wil b gg my parents' plc to sleep while he sleeps wif his platoon mates in camp...

tdy is d 2nd dae of my rest week b4 starting work nxt tue @ my new workplc... been watching d korean drama "Princess Hours" n reading Jason Hahn's book "Asking for Trouble: Tales of Saffy and Amanda"... the drama is realli cute n funni, relaxing n entertaining.... can understand y there was a craze on dis drama sometime back... as for the book, it is oso veri funni, thou exaggerated humour most of the time.... to gif women credit, in reality, nt all women r described as such in the book lor... *indignant shrug of the shoulders*

cant wait for weekend to come, where we wil b going KL for a short 3d2n get-away b4 me start work...jus finished packing our travel bag (1 hand-carry n 1 backpack), b4 inserting some last minute items tmr evening n we wil b ready to go... :)

My last dae wif SMRT today.... :(

Todae is officially my last dae wif SMRT…. Time really flies! A month’s notice jus passed… felt 依依不舍 too…

My colligs, knowing my fav character is Winnie the Pooh, actually got me a Winnie the Pooh music carousel/trinket box from Royal Selangor! J so sweet & thotful of them! Particularly like the music… they oso joked that in future, can play it by my baby as itz v soothing… :P

Jo & May oso cot the moments of me opening the gift n reading the farewell card on their handphone camera & video-camera! A brief moment of my ugliest moment of breaking down was oso cot b4 Jo ‘mercifully’ stopped the recording… tried to receive the 6-minutes recording from Jo but too bad my card memory was full… sighz… time wasted in downloading onli to find it unsuccessful…

Hope my farewell words to Gennie cld b heard when she returns from her medical leave… cos kinda soft whn we playback the recording on Jo’s handphone… too bad couldn’t say to her personally…. Hope she gets well soon, stay bubbly!

Begone wif the swelling!

phew! the swelling of my left eye has finally gone down... at least can now view the world wif 2 normally sized eyes... imagine last few daes my left eye was swollen, puffy n nid to wear shades when me went out... such a bad scare...

dearie can come out every nite after his day ict... :P so nice, he came to fetch me hm from my parents' plc n we came back together... :P we were oso able to spend the weekend together... yesterdae we went to the army market @ bugis to have his name tags n badges sewn onto his 4 pcs of no. 4... today was spent lazing @ hm...

seems like next week wil b dearie's busiest week of his ict... he may finish v late tmr nite, so most prob gonna stay over @ my parents plc... but glad we hv booked a 3d2n trip to KL this coming weekend :P looking forward to it, me wil b in charge of planning the itinerary... hee...

tmr wil b my 2nd last dae wif smrt... gonna miss the team... but we wil stil kip in touch rite? gonna repeat myself again, my new wkplc wil b v near here.... so can stil lunch together, provided the team dun mind... hee... :P

Dearie on ICT after a bad scare last nite

dearie is on in-camp training (ict) today till next fri... meaning starting from 15/3/07 till next 22/3/07, me wil go back my parents' plc to stay... they offered to hv me stay over cos think they worried abt me staying @ hm alone, esp @ nitez... but dearie said married personnel hv the options of gg home @ nite after training... but we decided should the training end late, he might as well stay in camp cos nid to wake up earli the next dae... so we shall jus c how... :)

anyway, seems like a lot of ppl r gg on ict these few daes... is it jus coincidence or saf plans for ict during d 3rd n 4th weeks of march? hmmz... mebbe itz jus coincidence that ppl we noe hap to go on ict ard dis period too...

had a bad scare last nite... while in bed, me suddenli felt itchiness n irritation in my left eye n the next moment, my left eye became swollen! had prob opening my left eye too! the lower eyelid practically ballooned n there appeared 2b a layer of thick transparent stuff over my eye white... scared me n dearie! he quickly put ice in a thick face towel n tried to massage the swollen eyelid... me oso tried to wash my eye over running water... but the eye stil appeared as swollen as b4... me looked so ridiculous in the mirror!

dearie immediately drove me to ttsh a&e dept... rched there ard 10pm... waited @ the holding area til ard 11.30pm whr finalli seen by a doc... she said my symptom seemed like an allergy to food or medicine or some dust... but had the same dines as dearie n he's ok... oso din take any new medicine lately... cant recall any dust coming into my eye either... she couldn't put a finger to the cause... she then applied 2 drops of eye-drops into my left eye n asked me to wait outside for half an hr... she said she wil call me when half an hour was up... so we waited outside, 12.00 midnight came n went... finalli @ 12.20am, we went in to look for her... she looked apologetic n asked us to wait a while longer... finalli she gave me 2daes mc n asked me to rest @ hm over the next 2daes... oso hv to eat hm-cooked food (jus nice as mum wil surely cook @ hm :P) cos she deduced me could hv been allergic to the msg or the way outside food was handled n prepared... thot could finalli go home n sleep cos dearie needed to wake up @ 6.00am so as to report to camp by 7.30am... who knew we stil hv to wait @ the pharmacy for about 30mins!! geez!! anybody wif serious injury might hv trouble!

jus hope the swelling wil go down soon n dearie wil hv a good time during ict... thank u for taking care of me last nite... hee...

Bad encounter following food poisoning...

lodged a complaint with NEA regarding our food poisoning incident as cant find the correct feedback channel through Mos Burger... in the end, we lodged a complaint against NEA instead.... such poor attitude and service of the 2 staff who responded to us! realli gets on my nerves recalling the words they used....

in the end, Jo managed to find the number for the Mos Burger outlet... she called them on fri... their service is much much betta! attempts at service recovery were made too...

fed up wif attitude of the NEA officers, we decided to lodge a complaint to their higher management... an email was sent to the CEO on last friday... the next working dae (which is todae), an email on investigations to be conducted by NEA was sent by the CEO... but my name was spelt wrongly in the email.... aiyoz....
