Been feeling easily tired n kinda lethargic these daes, so decided to start taking leave n rest @ home, while awaiting Baby Charlotte's arrival... which may b 10 daes later or even earlier... so excited!! MIL said she wld come tmr to kip me company while Dearie is @ wk...

Been having dreams abt Baby Charlotte entering our family... both bad n good dreams... wonder wat reality wil hold 4us...

As my tummy is realli big nw, tend to get weird looks (sometimes stares) from passers-by... they mus b wondering how come me hvn given birth yet n stil walking around... last week, a collig oso remarked how cm me stil walking around in office n hvn taken leave... so think my resting @ hm nw may b a relief to my colligs as it wun cause unnecessary panic in offc when the time comes... =P

38 weeks 2 days...

during todae's visit to Dr Lui, me nid to take the glucose test... hv fasted since 12 midnite last nite...

on reaching the clinic, the nurse looked a bit shocked 2c us... apparently they had mistakenly written my appt as nxt week... she concocted a super duper sweet drink 4me (the glucose water)... tasted too sweet 4 my liking, but jus wanna finish it up quickly, so as to get it over n done wif... aft dat, took my weight, which increased another 2kg since last week's visit... so in total, hv gained 19kg, think gonna hv a hard hard time shedding the excess weight aft delivery...

checked wif nurse on the glucose test procedure, n was informed dat me nid to stay @ the clinic for 2hrs aft taking the glucose water, then hv my blood samples taken for a test by Dr Lui as well as 2b sent to the lab for a more detailed test... results wil onli b known nxt week... Dr Lui shld b calling me to inform me of the lab test results n whether my glucose level is of any concern... hv heard fr frenz n colligs dat inducing is v v painful... kiping my fingers crossed...

anyway, Dr Lui did the usual checks on my tummy n baby Charlotte... she is now engaged, n in a v gd position for delivery... he showed us the position of her head on ultrasound n said he's v pleased wif her position n she is helping mummy alot... hee! so my constant talking to her realli helps! wil continue to talk to her... heehee! whn Dr Lui showed us on ultrasound, n poked my tummy whr her head was engaged, she responded n moved, as if in protest @ why he poked her... so cute! Dr Lui oso discussed wif us wat he would do during delivery n agreed wif our choice of nt using epidural unless me realli couldn't take the pain... she is nw 3.3kg (estimated) n he predicted she may weigh 3.5kg on delivery...

as baby Charlotte is now engaged, he did an inspection of whether my cervix had dilated... nope, hadn't dilated yet... but he did warn could b anytime n to continue monitoring baby Charlotte's movements... so exciting n actively counting down to 12 more daes...

3rd Year Anniversary of our Proposal

Yesterdae was our 3rd year anniversary of our proposal.. time realli flies! =) coincidentally, MIL oso asked us to go for Father's Dae Celebration wif DIL as most probably, during the actual Father's Dae, me wil b doing my confinement...

So we had dines @ Chatterbox... MIL, DIL, Dearie's aunt n me all had their signature chicken rice while Dearie had nasi lemak n his sis had burger... MIL said hv to bring me to Chatterbox, else if they bring Charlotte there in future, me may feel itz unfair cos Charlotte been to Chatterbox but me nv been there... hee!

Cos itz our 3rd year anniversary of our proposal ydae, MIL gave us a gift which completes our Precious Moments 'sofa' collection =) coincidentally, the gift re-enacts our proposal scene 3 years ago! stil remember Dearie specially arranging the proposal wif the TCC (Holland V outlet) staff, his sis n 3 colligs... me stil blur blur then, no idea dat he's gonna propose, despite the special gifts, bubble blowing fr his 3 colligs, our song played on the PA system n his sis hiding in a corner taking a video... so blur of me!

Dearie's V-Dae gift to me dis yr... looks like us @ hm watching TV in living room, except we dun hv pets =P

Baby Charlotte may arrive earlier...

During visit to Dr Lui on Sat, he asked me how me feeling... told him feeling fine, except dat @ times, felt slight discomfort or pressure at my pelvis bone n whether itz normal... he said itz normal, especially nw dat me 37 weeks... cos baby is growing, so will press down when she starts moving about... realise dis is true, she is very active inside me, moving n stretching merrily inside me, sometimes turning my tummy into a weird lop-sided shape... hee...

Me had gained 17kg, no change since last visit 2 weeks ago... looks like my weight gain has more or less stabilised... on ultrasound, we saw her n her heartbeat =) Dr Lui said he's v pleased wif his position cos she had turned headfirst n chin tucked in... but he mentioned she's quite big, size-wise, n predicted she might b a 3.5kg baby on delivery... he suggested me take glucose test during next visit next Sat if me hvn delivered yet, n if tested positive for gestational diabetes, he would suggest immediate induction 4me, cos he generally would not encourage such pregnancy cases to go beyond 38 weeks pregnancy for normal delivery... luckily, me oredi nearing delivery, so not to worry too much even if tested positive, cos if me were in my 2nd trimester or earlier, would nid to watch diet real closely... both Dearie n me r so excited nw! cos if we were to count down to my EDD on 5 Jun, it would be 17 more daes, but it could be even earlier nw, if Dr Lui were to induce delivery 4me... =P

We went for a weekend stay @ Changi Village Hotel =) a v relaxing stay, away fr the buzz of the city... we did not have a chance to go to the swimming pool cos of my condition, but we had a wonderful time soaking in the bathtub =) we had orange juice, potato chips n chocolate biscuits while chatting about Baby Charlotte n our lives... luckily the bathtub was big enuff to fit the 3 of us comfortably inside... heh!

We oso went for a walk @ Changi Beach Board Walk... proud to say we completed the whole Board Walk! =) heard walking is good for delivery, so will try to walk more often... during weekends, after dines, Dearie wil oso accompany me for short walks around our neighbourhood =) he nids to slow down his pace to accommodate my pace thou...

Just checked out today... time realli flies when we r having fun! our weekend stay jus flew past without us realising it... soon, Baby Charlotte wil hv arrived... now feeling both excited n nervous... dunno wat to expect during delivery...

My 1st Mother's Day Gift

Sunday was Mother's Day... we celebrated it wif my mum @ home on Sun, where Dearie n me bot roasted duck, char siew n roasted meat from Pearl's Centre Hawker Centre while mum cooked rice... it was a yummy n meaty lunch where we enjoyed the meat which was not too oily yet crispy =) mum oso bot me coconut juice, which me been taking weekly... so cooling n nice especially during this hot weather!


Yesterdae, we celebrated Mother's Day wif my MIL @ Central Tom Ton Restaurant... my in-laws particulary love the tonkatsu n black pig there... n me got my 1st mother's day gift from my MIL! hee! itz a woman holding a baby close to her heart... find it v apt cos dis wil b me nxt month! v v surprised to receive this gift from her! Dearie oso had something romantic planned over the long weekend for me =) looking forward to it!



Forgot to mention Baby Charlotte is so active inside me! Before, during and after mealtimes, she wil move v vigorously.... @ nites, b4 sleeping, she wil oso move v vigorously... find it so amazing! althou me feel more tired these daes, wif the extra baby bump weight n aching legs, we feel all dis is worth it, esp whn we get 2c n carry her! =) realli looking forward to her arrival, counting down to 23 daes, soon wil b 10+ daes, followed by single-digit daes! =)

25 more days to my EDD on 5 Jun =) so exciting! we have more or less gotten ready... my bag is packed n placed in Dearie's car, tog wif the cord blood collection kit from Stemcord as well as our original marriage certificate =)

Tomorrow will c the final addition to Baby Charlotte's nursery =) itz the arrival of her baby cot... Dearie will be taking noon off to wait for the cot 2b delivered, he has to specifically have it done when me nt around, so tomorrow is ideal when me will b @ work =P

Have oso prepared a simple slide wif Dearie's no. to call in case my labour symptoms happen in office... will paste it on my cabinet tomorrow... itz a special request from my colligs, so dat they will noe wat to do... heh!

Yesterdae was our last official pre-natal class on Parent Craft... but Mount Alvernia Hospital will be giving us a complimentary 7th class next Fri where a lecture will be conducted to educate us on our post-natal sexual life... think should be quite interesting as each couple will be given a game back home... wonder wat the game is about... will noe nxt Fri =P lesson yesterdae was on bottle sterilization, changing of diapers n bathing of baby... me still remember how to fold cloth diapers cos used to take care of my siblings when young... Dearie picked up the technique v fast too, n showed me using his handkerchief... haha! clever Daddy!

My handphone, Samsung SGH-800, oso underwent a makeover yesterdae... it has started to rust at the edges for no apparent reason, so decided to go to Plaza Singapura to hv it g-masked... heh! chose a sweet, pink background wif Winnie The Pooh =) the overall effect is v sweet, cute n pretty! haha! cos my phone is originally dark, the salesger said the pooh design would not stand out well and would nid an additional white background... so the overall makeover costs $38 (for the pooh wrap) and $20 (for the white background)... my sis, upon seeing the phone design, said it looks v girly! haha!

35 weeks & counting...

Me into my 35th week of pregnancy liao... realli enjoying the merry movements of baby Charlotte inside my tummy, despite feeling heaviness n leg cramps once in a while... but jus 5 more weeks to my EDD makes all these discomfort worth it where we'll get to hold n c baby Charlotte in person! =)

Went for check-up wif Dr Lui dis morn, our appt was initialli @ 9.30am but he nid 2b called in for delivery @ 10.00am, so our appt was brot fwd to 9.00am instead... baby Charlotte is nw 2.5kg, Dr Lui said she may weigh abt 3.1-3.3kg whn born, nt a small baby... heh... he did the regular checks on my tummy by pressing here n there n congratulated me dat she has turned headfirst, but couldn't promise anything abt engaged anot as itz stil fairly earli to tell... he oso cleverly conjured his initials (P.S. Lui) into the 3 symptoms of labour, namely Pain, Show and Leaking water... hee! in a way, he's reminding me abt his initials whn admitting myself into Mt A for delivery as well as the 3 symptoms of labour... my nxt appt is in 2 weeks' time, after dat wil b reduced to weekly visits...

Oso attended our 5th pre-natal class tdy =) tdy's lesson was on breastfeeding... baby Charlotte was oso listening attentively! hope we'll b able to co-operate well whn itz our turn =) we were oso given a baby doll to practise breastfeeding wif... Dearie treated the doll like a real baby n carried him/her delicately n carefully... so cute! can c him trying 2b a best daddy =)

Tdy, 3rd May, is oso our 8th yr anniversary since getting tog! =) time flies... we went to Bugis Junction to take our usual monthly neo-cards... dis time, we purposely chose a background which could 'show off' my tummy =)

Labour Day Outing...

Decided to go someplc to take some nice pics during the Labour Day PH =) Been a while since we went to Chinese Gardens (think last time we went was during our school outings... so it has been ages!!)

We stocked up on 100 plus n mineral water @ Suntec City Carrefour b4 gg on a long drive to Jurong, where we had Dearie's fav vegetarian mee... the stall auntie had previously remarked my tummy looked like a baby boy bump, but my MIL had corrected her itz nt, thou many ppl oso thot itz a baby boy bump... Thou it was a v hot dae, we had fun walking around the Chinese Gardens n visiting the Turtle & Tortoise Museum (which won a plc in the Guinness World Records)... here r some of the pix we took:
