Humble Beginnings to "House Rules" 19/10/2006Mui Kiang brought her collection of cross stitch books to office on Wednesday and showed us... wow!! Gin, Gennie, May and myself were so fascinated by the books, especially the one on "House Rules"... so cute hor? gonna be another major project for myself, having completed a small "Pooh" bookmark :) A great sense of accomplishment when the bookmark is completed... Kept showing Dearie at various stages but he only nodded his head after taking a quick glance at it... only when the bookmark is completed is he awed :) Quickly applied for the VIP Membership Card with Spotlight before heading to the outlet at Plaza Singapura to buy the materials after work yesterday. Gin helped me apply online as I faced problems accessing the website registration portion... With the membership no., you can just go down to Spotlight and get your card on the spot... in fact, the staff will give you an empty card and you just need to fill in the membership no., name and signature and the card is ready to use! Forgot to use my card when purchasing all the materials yesterday... so forgotful! but also dunno whether can get discounts if i use... all in all, purchased 27 threads and a 13" by 29" cloth for $33.30 :) think gonna be a costly affair, especially with the custom made frame after the cross stitch is done... and with many more trips to Spotlight to get more threads... :) Dearie was very sweet, embarking on an important mission in finding the threads for me yesterday, holding the list of threads and their codes, bending over all the threads on the racks, and using a pen to tick off those threads he had found... :)
Food... 12/11/2005
Food... who don't love food right? :P Think we are lucky to live in Singapore, where there are all kinds of different food available around us, but think can find the most types of food at hawker centres... though not air-conditioned, one can get to savour many different types of food from the various food stalls there @ affordable prices...
I particularly like eating... especially spicy, fried or 'noodle' food... however, like most gers, I am scared of putting on weight or getting unnecessary pimple breakouts... :P
Anyway, having my own home now means having to cook meals for hubby and myself, especially during weekends when both of us are not working... I love cooking... though when still living with my parents then, I usually don't cook cos mum will do all the cooking... but now, it's different... having own home means we are able to buy our favourite foods to stock up our fridge, add our own favourite food ingredients etc... it's also fun when both of us get to prepare a meal together ;))
Now, I will pay great attention to the ingredients that go into a dish when I eat outside, make a mental note and try to prepare something similar at home... hee!! A fun process
