we are back from our Europe Romance :) been a sweet 10 days magical, relaxing stay in Switzerland & Paris (but technically only 8 days cos 2 days spent on flight)

took 400+ photos, yet to select the nice ones to develop & decorate our photo album... but did a travelogue using a program called Corel Draw (recommendation by Gin :p) we planned to do together, in the end, me did 99% of it... he asked me to do the 1st pg, then he'll do the 2nd page, me'll do the 3rd page, he do the 4th page so on & so forth.... in the end, after he did the 2nd page, he grew tired of it liao... me dun wanna wait... so might as well finish up the whole travelogue... proud of myself! haha!!

we saw snow in Switzerland & embarked on the romantic river cruise at Paris! Took pix of the Eiffel Tower too! :) realli enjoyed the cooling weather in Europe... thou dearie, @ 1 point, was unwell (think motion sickness)... bot lotsa stuff back too, including a pair of 'B Swiss' couple watches & LV bag & wallet. :) most expensive items in our lives, i guess... :P

upon returning to singapore on 18 Dec, we came back home & slept... cos both of us were unable to sleep on the flight back... was it jet lag? luckily we were able to sleep on our flight there, else dunno how we can enjoy ourselves there.... :P after waking up, we went to my parents' place to celebrate my mum's birthdae... can tell she veri happi we returned to celebrate her birthdae wif her :)

19 to 22 Dec was our hotel stay @ Changi Village Hotel, sorta belated 1yr ROM Anniversary since 9 Sept 2005... cos aft our ROM last year, we stayed @ Changi Village Hotel... the hotel staff were still as frenly and the ambience jus as nice :) We had fun @ the roof-top swimming pool too, where we can see the surroundings fr the pool :) our package oso gave us free internet access, complimentary mini-bar & a plate of complimentary fruits... we oso went to Changi Board Walk, meaning to view the sunset... but alas, on both evenings, the sky was overcast... couldn't even see the sun... too badz... another time then...

23 Dec afternoon was Xmas exchange wif my close frenz from Shell :) invited them to our place again (similar to last year) in the morning, we went Toa Payoh to purchase sushi & a log cake... had such fun! :) glad we able to do so every year... mebbe next year, can go Joyce's place to view her lovenest? :P in the nite was Xmas exchange wif my PA ex-colligs @ Vivocity... too bad some of them couldn't make it... but nevertheless, we still had fun catching up on our lives & gossip... hee... hope next year turn-out will b betta? :P

since our return to singapore, we had watched many movies, "Curse of the Golden Flower", "Death Note 2", "Night at the Museum", "Eragon"... hee... all the movies above were veri nice! :) the 1st one was spectacular, wif gr8 visual effects, 2nd one was jus as nice as its predecessor, 3rd one was hilarious, 4th one was short & sweet.

returning to work on 26 Dec found myself overwhelmed wif lotsa work! took me 3 days to clear my inbox, but still hv many outstanding cases... most of my other colligs oso clearing leave & can onli see them next year... hope the new year will be a good year 4us!

rem he oso tried to create dis sense of 'deja vu' last sun over dines... he asked me the same qn twice, which in turn generated a string of laughter fr his frenz.. :P

took leave yesterdae cos itz my grandfather-in-law's 100th dae after his passing, so went temple to pay respects to him...

was veri shocked when Dearie received a call on his mobile from my collig, May! apparently, my colligs did not see me in office and wondered what happened to me! cos was coughing quite badly on mon in office, so Mui Kiang had thot me on MC again... she sms-ed me but me din hear the tone... May oso tried calling me but again, me din hear the tone... so in the end, she resorted to calling Dearie :) touched by their concern & oso felt guilty for making them worry...

went to see another doctor again on mon night after work, cos dun c any improvements in my condition despite taking the antibiotics... the 2nd doc told me me had slight asthma, and prescribed me more medicine, each targeting specific illness... hope will fully recover before honeymoon! going for review tonite after work...

told mother-in-law about my slight asthma condition & she quickly went to look for suitable tonics/soup to prepare for me... :P so touched... she oso told me to take good care of myself or else, our children may be as weak as me... hmmz... Dearie said if itz hereditary, wil hv no difference on our children whatsoeva... my mum specifically told me nt to take cold drinks, chicken, squids, orange etc... sighz....

anyway, there's dis cute white poodle-like dog in the lift lobby as us at in-laws' place yesterdae... itz owner was calling to it from the basement carpark... it appeared to be going to itz owner when suddenly it turned and rushed towards us, yelping excitedly! it was so excited, like ready to pounce on us! me got so scared and quickly grabbed Dearie's arm & used my bag to shield my legs... haha! then itz owner came and carried it away, apologising to us... usually me nt scared of dogs, but this particular one cot me off-guard...

today, in the lift, me saw a lizard scurrying around on the lift floor when we were about to go in! me quickly told Dearie to take the next lift cos dunno whether the lizard wil pounce on us in the lift anot! he said cant, cos the other lift wil not come up unless this lift goes down! sighz... no choice lor, hv to take the lift with the lizard... me kept an eye on the lizard, making sure it doesn't come anywhere near us... luckily, it stayed at a corner throughout the 17 floors down!

sighz... i hv fallen sick again... just recovered from flu and irritated throat after a course of antibiotics... but alas, barely a week more & i have fallen sick again... this time, it seems more serious... congested airway and chest & keeps coughing non-stop till nose becomes blocked & tears start to flow... on MC last Friday and stayed home to recuperate...

doc refused to give me more medicine, wanted my own immune system to fight the sickness... but when she realised my tonsils are infected, she has no choice but to give me antibiotics... she doesn't believe in having chemicals in the body... she said my frequent sickness stems from my sinus... when she realised i haven't been using the nasal spray frequently, she gave me a disapproving look... seems like i have to constantly use the nasal spray to keep my sinus under control... sighz... so troublesome, wil need to bring along on my honeymoon...

i feel like a drug addict, using the nasal spray every morning and every night before sleep... the feeling is weird at first, with the spray going into my body through the nose... but now getting used to it liao... seems my flu, cough & wat not are all connected to my sinus.... sighz...

as I was sick, we gave ourselves a break from housework over the weekend... instead, Dearie treated us to movies as he said i needed some fresh air... watched "Happy Feet" on Sat & "Battle of Wits" on Sun... both shows are nice... the former was so cute! the tunes are so catchy and the penguins are so cute! as GV has this promotion - Combo Popcorn Set that comes with a free penguin softtoy, Dearie bot 1 set and chose the main character, Mumble for me... now, Mumble is watching me at work... intend to bring him on our honeymoon trip too! :)

really looking forward to our honeymoon on 9/12/06!

had wanted to extend our stay in Paris (last stop after Switzerland) by 3 days, but was told by the tour agency that return flights are all fully booked... :(( we were so disappointed...

initially when we booked the tour, the agent who served us said there is no need for us to commit to extending our stay then... we can go back home and think over it... there is still time for us to extend when we make our 2nd payment a few months later...

in the end, we tried to extend but the agent (different from the first one) told us all return flights are fully booked... was there a miscommunication somewhere? why cant the same agent serve us throughout?

there's supposed to be a pre-tour briefing for us too... we tried to check with the agent on the date, timing etc... but was told he also has no idea and we have to wait for the tour agent from another agency to contact us for arrangements... aiyo.... briefing is supposed to be held 2months before the actual tour date, which is soon.... hope the agent calls us soon....

in the end, instead of extending our stay in Paris, we booked 3D2N stay at Changi Village Hotel, sorta a belated celebration for our 1year ROM Anniversary on 9 sept :)

hope our honeymoon will be sweet after all, despite all the hiccups now...

Our dining experience at Fullerton Hotel's Town Restaurant was really a good one :)

Had Gourmet Seafood Buffet yesterday evening before "Dim Sum Dollies - Little House of Horrors" wif Dearie, his parents & sis... their oysters, salmon sashimi, crayfish, prawns and among others were so fresh & delicious :) really impressed with their customer service too!

Dearie's Dad had a taste of their watermelon & found its taste weird... jus a word to their staff and the next instance, the plate of watermelons at the buffet spread was removed... such a prompt response to customer's feedback! the next moment, the same staff came to our table wif a plate of watermelons & a brief explanation for the watermelons' weird taste as well as a dessert sampler as a gesture of apology! :) the dessert sampler consists of several desserts, ranging from vanilla ice-cream to chocolate mouse, chocolate cakes, strawberry cakes among others... we were so impressed! :)

This must be the standard of a five-star hotel! :) Highly recommended place for a great dining experience (note I am not paid any commission for this)

the wedding reception we attended on 11/11/06 is actually a ROM solemnisation ceremony, followed by lunch of french cuisine at Au Jardin...

the bride looks so sweet, in her wedding gown, with a flower band / 'tiara' on her head... her hair was let down and her gown was made-to-measure (at flamingo bridal)... there were pink & white rose petals on the footpath where the bride's father would lead the bride to the solemnisation table where the solemniser and groom were waiting... the jiemeis oso held cones of rose petals where they would scatter on the newly weds after they had exchanged their vows and walked down the footpath... the feeling was very much like a church wedding... the bride also threw her bouquet of flowers to the awaiting single ladies... in fact, the newly weds had wanted to hold at Chijmes but 11/11/06 was fully booked...

the solemniser was a caucasian man, about 60+ years old... he looks so jolly and looks like the old man from KFC (as what the bride's grandmothers remarked to us upon seeing him) haha!! the newly weds prepared their own wedding vows and thank you speeches which brought tears to the bride's grandmothers... me touched too and tears welled in my eyes too :)

our wedding videographer, christopher from hilo productions was introduced by the bride then... had thot will see him on sat, but he was fully booked on 11/11/06... so no chance to thank him again for what he had done for our wedding...

the sky was overcast towards the end of the solemnisation, which was outdoors... luckily, it didn't rain until we proceeded to the restaurant for lunch! :)

11 nov is also the 28th yr wedding anniversary of dearie's parents! so coincidental! his mum was grumbling that she was not invited to the ROM, and relive this special dae... dearie & his dad see no sense in her logic... haha!! anyway, the guests were all very young, about 20 to 30yrs old, minus the newly weds' parents & grandparents...

at least we learned something new... for french cuisine, the bread should be on our left... but the other guests at our table felt it should be on our right... in the end, i "missed" my fork n had to ask to the waiter for an additional fork... he looked confused when he passed me the fork as there was an additional fork in front of the guest opposite me... the white wine served during lunch was very nice, wif a nice after taste... we made a mental note to check wif the bride...

yeah! today is friday oredi! :) so happy and looking forward to the weekends!

went to the doctor on mon, still not feeling well today... been having persistent coughs, especially at nights and can't sleep well... also felt phlegm in my chest and a blocked cum running nose, especially in the mornings... been also monitoring my temperature, luckily no fever...

a visit to the doctor during lunch time found me running a fever at 37.5 degrees celsius, thou a measurement in the morning indicated no fever.... unable to escape antibiotics this time... sighz... given a new course of medicine... hope wil get well before my honeymoon trip!

tomorrow, dearie & myself will be attending a wedding reception at Botanic Gardens, 12.00pm :) at a nice french restaurant called Au Jardin... bride is very young, 21 yrs old and daughter of a very good fren of my mother-in-law... it's the first outdoor wedding lunch reception i have had... heard the newly-weds will be engaging their photographer to take photos of them mingling with the guests and compile into their wedding album... quite new & special concept whereby there'll be no studio shoots nor posed pictures in their wedding album... the bride oso hand-made most of the wedding stuff, from invitation cards to flower petals used...

have decided on my dress tomorrow, a pink tube dress which me bought from raffles city robinsons before CNY this year... meant to wear during CNY but no chance to... finalli wil hv chance tomorrow! :) oso painted nail pink to match the dress... haha!

hope tomorrow will be a sunny day! :)

woke up with a terrible blocked nose, irritated throat & body aches yesterday morning... cant drag myself up for work and reported sick for work...

went to see doctor after finally waking up at 10.30am... waited for a long long long time for my turn thou me 1st in the queue... wonder wat the patient inside was doing wif the doctor... when it was finalli my turn, doctor took my temperature (luckily no fever), took a look at my throat (tonsils were irritated & red which probably explained the irritated throat), checked my blood pressure (normal) & checked my airways (clear)... then she prescribed medicine for my blocked nose & lozenges for the throat... asked her how about my body aches... she asked me to monitor my body temperature, should there b persistent fever for more than 3 days, must go back to her on Friday to take blood samples... as she was worried that it could be dengue fever, given singapore's weather & my symptons... got me so worried! :(

back at home, slept a while as medicine made me drowsy... did abit of my "House Rules" cross-stitch before feeling sick again... temperature fluctuated between 36.5 & 36.9, head was so heavy, cant think properly... finalli went to bed at around 9.30pm...

dearie quickly turned on the air-con and set timer for 4hrs, instead of the usual 2hrs as well as put the fan speed to medium speed, instead of the usual low speed, hoping me wun feel so hot and uncomfortable... me so worried wil develop a fever and b put under observation in hospital... the thought of being alone and put on the drip sent shivers down my spine...

luckily woke up feeling betta today, but stil brought the thermometer to office today, told colleagues me need to monitor my temperature... gennie was worried! may thought me preparing for a little one... haha!!

last week's plan was abruptly disrupted by a hospital visit on my part... this week's plan was disrupted by Dearie's activation! :P

yesterday was our 6.5 years anniversary of being together, so today we wanted to go Bugis Junction to take our monthly neo-cards :) who knows the moment we stepped outta house & waiting for the lift, his phone rang... he was activated!

so coincidental! luckily we haven't turned into Bugis Junction yet & knew about this! else history will repeat itself, like last week... :P

now, he's on his way to pick up his platoon mate to go camp together... hope his stay @ the camp wun take too long... hope will just be a routine call... keeping fingers crossed... while waiting for him to come back, think will start doing housework 1st, else he may b tired to do so tonite... glad he has alwiz been helping out in vacuuming & mopping the house while me only take charge of ironing clothes... :P

sighz... think me just not fated to catch "Rob-B-Hood" on the big screen! on last sunday, after a home-cooked lunch (rice wif prawn omelette, tempura fish & bamboo shoots) and noting the show-times, we set off for Jurong Point GV, hoping to buy tixs on the spot since the movie was into its last runs liao... moreover, encountered problems on GV website when we wanted to book online... jus exited from PIE when we received news of a bus incident wif 3 passengers and service leader sent to TTSH... so had to turn back to where we came from.... missed the show again (2nd time liao)

to think that TTSH is so near our home! if we were to receive the news earlier or before we left house, will not nid to go the extra unnecessary distance...

spent 3 hours at TTSH, ensuring that the injured received treatment & we had exchanged contacts... luckily they sustained minor injuries and received outpatient treatment... during these 3 hours, Dearie had to go wandering aimlessly at the nearby Novena Square and United Square :)

thanks Dearie! :)

oh... both Dearie and myself just missed NUS Arts Canteen food so much!

decided to go there yesterday and have a late lunch :) treated ourselves to laksa yong tau foo and chicken cutlet. the food still tastes just as yummy as 6 years ago for me... OMG... time sure flies! prices remain the same with new additions of stalls to the Arts Canteen... :) brings back memories for both of us... thou we only spent free periods of my last year and his first year together in NUS, but still... when we saw the lecture theatres & tutorial rooms, undergrads rushing for lectures, catching bites in between classes... just brought back memories of those days...

sighz... fact that it has been 6 years since my graduation just makes me realise me hv aged... Dearie oso din realise it has been 6 years until me brought it up!

met his sis at the canteen too... she said her frens find us look like law students!! hmm... wat does that imply? *scratch head*

Oishi Pizza 24/10/2006

Been hearing good reviews of Oishi Pizza... finally tried it yesterday. (been very disappointed wif Pizza Hut services, we had waited for 2hours ++ the last time for our orders to be delivered!) Very impressed with the pizza and delivery speed of Oishi Pizza. :) They delivered within the promised time of 1hr 15mins... but too bad they missed our special requests of leaving out the green pepper, onions & sweet corn...

We ordered Oishi Combo which consisted of a 12" pizza, 2 salads & 3 wings... we also ordered 1 extra side order of 3 potato croquettes... the pizza we chose is the chicken ham & shitake pizza... has a special oriental taste to the pizza, unlike the usual taste we have from Pizza Hut or California Pizza... however, the wings are not as nice, not juicy enough... in fact, Pizza Hut's is nicer!

At least now, we have another choice of Pizza! :) http://www.oishipizza.com/story.htm'>http://www.oishipizza.com/story.htm">http://www.oishipizza.com/story.htm

Humble Beginnings to "House Rules" 19/10/2006

Mui Kiang brought her collection of cross stitch books to office on Wednesday and showed us... wow!! Gin, Gennie, May and myself were so fascinated by the books, especially the one on "House Rules"... so cute hor? gonna be another major project for myself, having completed a small "Pooh" bookmark :) A great sense of accomplishment when the bookmark is completed... Kept showing Dearie at various stages but he only nodded his head after taking a quick glance at it... only when the bookmark is completed is he awed :)

Quickly applied for the VIP Membership Card with Spotlight before heading to the outlet at Plaza Singapura to buy the materials after work yesterday. Gin helped me apply online as I faced problems accessing the website registration portion... With the membership no., you can just go down to Spotlight and get your card on the spot... in fact, the staff will give you an empty card and you just need to fill in the membership no., name and signature and the card is ready to use!

Forgot to use my card when purchasing all the materials yesterday... so forgotful! but also dunno whether can get discounts if i use... all in all, purchased 27 threads and a 13" by 29" cloth for $33.30 :) think gonna be a costly affair, especially with the custom made frame after the cross stitch is done... and with many more trips to Spotlight to get more threads... :)

Dearie was very sweet, embarking on an important mission in finding the threads for me yesterday, holding the list of threads and their codes, bending over all the threads on the racks, and using a pen to tick off those threads he had found... :)

had a most delicious dinner last night, specially prepared by Dearie himself. :)

he made lamb, potato balls and cheese sausages for us... oso had red wine to go with the red meat... wanted to help him but was shoo-ed away from the kitchen to the dining table... was asked to jus sit there, read novel and wait for dinner 2b served... hee :)

so sweet of him to do all these... thanks, Dearie!

Weekend (14/10/06-15/10/06)

My blog entry for the weekend again...

Actually been on course from last Wednesday to Friday, attending a course on "Planning & Managing Projects" organised by IPS. It's a heavy course with many information to absorb... in fact, there's an examination on the last dae of the course! This course is 50% funded by the government... in order to qualify for the funding, you will need to pass at least 18 qns out of the 25 mcq qns... usually, for courses, me will jus leave the course materials in the classroom, but this time, me diligently brot the materials home to revise (while watching the 9pm tcs show)... luckily passed it! :)

Supposed to go for ma la huo guo dinner with my colligs on Friday... But having stomach discomforts, so have to forgo it... thou May said me can take the chicken soup, stil felt wun b able to resist the temptation of watchg my other colligs take the spicy soup... oso dun wanna run the risk of having regular toilet trips at nite...

Watched "Departed" wif his xiong dis and gfs at PS on Friday... 13 of us in total such that Dearie booked the entire row! :) The show was nice... plot is similar to "Infernal Affairs"... suggest to watch "Departed" with an open mind so as to appreciate the show... some of his xiong dis find "Infernal Affairs" better and why "Departed" not the same as "Infernal Affairs"... Dearie, being naughty, actually asked them to watch "Infernal Affairs" with the volume turned down and read the english subtitles so as to have in hollywood version... haha!

At PS, oso saw our matchmaker cum my good fren wif her bf! Dearie's sharp eyes cot her backview walking hand in hand wif a guy on the floor below us... finding her realli familiar, we called her & surprised her... so happi 4her 2c her bathed in love now.... she deserves the best! :)

On Sat, we watched another movie "Death Note" at Great World City... another show we find nice! Luckily we haven't read the comics yet, so can appreciate the twists and turns in the movie! Initially wanna watch "Rob B Hood" but VivoCity's timing is not favourable and Great World City is no longer showing the movie... sighz... think have to watch it on DVD liao...

Sunday is Dearie's Dad birthday and we have a bbq gathering at The Caribbean... his aunt bot marinated lamb, chicken, pork, beef and sausages from Paragon Market Place.... very nice! Dearie oso bot crackers, cheese and marshmallows... tried the crackers with cheese but personally dun like, find the taste of the cheese too strong... had to gulp down lotsa water after that to dispel the taste in my mouth... eeks! but Dearie likes it... oso had fun heating up the marshmallows! outside is hard while inside is soft and oozy... yumz! :)

Still have some chicken and lamb leftovers, so we brot home and can have them for dinner on Monday and Tuesday... can even have wine to go along with the meat too! :)

My 1st PDA-Phone! 09/10/2006

My Tungsten E died on me yesterday... reached office, tried to turn on but it just wun turn on... practically died on me!! so sad, at first, thought cos battery flat... but after charging and soft plus hard resets, still wun turn on...

Me din diligently backup my data, so it means my data wil b gone... the last time i hotsync was sometime in jun, nw oredi oct... oh no, meaning i can say sayonara to data added during these 4 months (Jo hor?) !! oh no....

think warranty oso over liao, since me bot it when stil in PA, meaning over a year ago liao... actually should have learnt my lesson after my palm m515 oso died on me, but still.... sighz...

anyway, went sim lim square after work wif Dearie... wanted to jus get a PDA to replace Tungsten... in the end, after much shopping around, decided on getting PDA-phone, and in future, just need to carry 1 device around... looked at Dopod, then HQ iPAQ RW 6818... Dopod at Sim Lim Square costs only $760+, but cos we hv Taka vouchers which can oso b used at Best Denki, decided to go Taka have a look too... Dopod costs $900+ while iPAQ costs $799... itz a gift from Dearie... thanks!

now nid to start from scratch... but Dearie managed to recover part of my data from my last hotsync in jun... we stayed up till 12+ to solve dis, so that I can at least carry to office today... gonna sell my sony ericsson w700i and 1 GB memory stick... hope can get good value for both of them... hee!

Long Weekend 6-8/10/06

Had a long weekend... took leave on Friday... just to sleep in and laze in bed, been feeling very tired and just wanna gif myself a break! Woke up on Friday and cooked myself instant noodles for breakfast while watching Korean drama on vcd "Zui4 Hou4 Zhi Wu3". All my korean drama vcds are loaned from Dearie's Aunt... she had loaned me numerous vcds, which me been taking a very long time to view... Then Dearie's mum oso loaned me another korean drama "Love in Harvard"... very very nice! Brings me back to schooling days... Lecture halls, assignments, exams, deadlines... miss school life!!

Cooked dinner for Dearie on Friday, his favourite dishes... after dines and catching the last episode on channel 8, "Fa3 Ting2 Qiao4 Jia1 Ren2", we went to shang3 yue4 at the rooftop of the multi-storey carpark... so hazy, the moon was here and gone when the dark clouds drift along... played sparklers too! Been my desire to see mini-fireworks! We look like 2 grown-up kids playing and laughing wif the sparklers! Hope our neighbours din laugh too much from their flats! haha! after that, went for a drive to Changi Village.... Looks like eastern part of Singapore was not so hazy, compared to central side where we live.... hmm... walked along the beach, saw ppl (adults too) carrying lanterns, fishing....

Saturday was housework in the morning after opening our eyes.... followed by home-cooked lunch... after dat, we went to Raffles Town Club, meaning to have the tea set for 2, but the waitress kinda ignored us, so we oso ignored her and left.... haha!! watched "You, Me & Dupree" wif his 2 xiong dis and Suntec City... nice show! so funny! laughed our heads off! hee!! oso saw my ex-boss from MacPherson, Chinn-Yunn and GRL, Alan... so funni! they were trying to find their car!! after that was a gathering wif his xiong dis and GF at Villa Bali... had drinks wif chicken wings... yumz!

Sunday was the 49th dae since Dearie' grandpa demise... had prayers for about 3 hrs in the morning, followed by lunch wif his family members at Ah Hua Bak Kut Teh at Keppel Way... had my favourite fen3 chang2... thou hot, nice food... in fact, alot of celebrities dined there too! got photos around the coffee shop as proof! After that, we went Bugis to get our wedding bands which have been polished and flown back from Sweden.... shiny now, good as new! must protect it well from scratches! After that , continued with my catching up on "Love in Harvard"... practically hooked on it liao! Dearie cot up on his sleep and me prepared dinner, jap curry wif fried chicken, french beans wif prawns and sardine fish wif rice....

Weekend 30/9/06 - 1/10/06

Weekends seem so short! Itz Monday and back to work again...

Caught "Scoop" on Friday with Dearie Xiong Di at Cathay... Find it refreshingly interesting but 2 of his Xiong Di & GF actually fell asleep.... think not their type of show.... Cathay seats seem to be "connected" to one another... When one person along the same row of seats shakes his leg or move about in his seat, you can feel the "vibrations".... Kinda irritating....

Saturday is our housework day... as usual, me ironed the clothes while Dearie took charge of the labour work - vacuuming, mopping the floor & cleaning the master bedroom toilet :)) *phew* lucky me dun nid to do the labour work, me can even stay in the bedroom, with air-con on, watch a korean drama while ironing the clothes!! :P

Lunch was Dearie's home-made baked rice, wif sausages & fried chicken :) yumz! After lunch was a lazy day catching "Desperate Housewives" and watching Dearie playing "Kingdom Hearts" on his PS2... me oso caught up on my cross-stitch :) glad making good progress :) now short of the outline, eyes & those that need the dark brown thread... cos me doing colour by colour... Dearie was saying itz amazing how a plain white piece of cloth could become so pretty... ;P next on my to-do list will be decorating our photo album on our Hongkong Trip in Aug 06 & completing the crossword puzzle we bought 2 years ago? procrastinating for so long... haha!!

Dinner was xiao bai cai in oyster sos, fish (which got lotsa bone, Dearie had to pick them out before giving me... haha!) & herbal chicken soup  wif rice... after dinner, at about 9pm, we went for a drive, to Changi Airport T1 where we sat at the Viewing Gallery... he did his course homework while me played Nintendogs on my Nintendo DS, which he bought me sometime back... very relaxing, just sitting at the viewing gallery, watching planes fly off, land... kids running or prancing about with their parents following closely behind, young couples walking hand in hand...

Supper was MacDonald's at Balestier Shaw Plaza... wanted to wait for midnight so that we can buy the buddy meal @ $8, but it was only 11.30pm when we reach there & Dearie was not that hungry, so in the end, settled for McNuggets meal with Fillet-O-Fish... we played BrainAge on the DS, like such challenging games which require some brainwork... Our brain age, as calculated by the game, was 30+ years old! Hmm... so old despite being 20+ years old only... haha! apparently brain age can improve with daily training, game will actually plot our brain age in a graph.... training includes word memory, quick mental calculations (20 & 100), reading aloud, stroop tests, sudoku etc... more training will unlock more training games... dunno wat other training games will b unlocked...

Sunday was going back to my parents' plc for lunch... Mum purposely cooked pig's trotters, vegetable curry & rice for us... ;) Dad also bought Ruffles Potato Chips (sweet & sour cream flavour) for me! :) My younger sis, bro and parents were very happy 2c us back home, albeit for a meal for a short while on weekends... however, we are really sorry we cant go back often... but will try our best to call every once in a while :P My sister was very happy to be able to play Nintendogs & Brain Age on my DS... she told me she got 8 points for her sec 4 leaving exams! so happy for her! hope she does as well or better during her 'O' Levels in Nov too! :) however, dun wanna put undue pressure on her too... jus try ur best & gif ur best shot ya? :)

After lunch was a trip to Bugis & the National Library... Dearie borrowed more comics while me borrowed a book by Catherine Lim on "Leap of Love"... should support local writers mah... :P Took our monthly Neo cards too, now the card is on my workdesk :P background is kind of funny, wif us in the bathtub, and floating brassieres & panties.... what intrigues me in choosing this background was the bright colours, with 2 yellow rubber duckies in the bathtub... itz only after taking the card then we realise the awkward items... haha!! looking at the card just makes it more funny... hope his colleagues wun poke fun @ him!

Dinner was creamy potato chowder with bread... need to rest early for a new week on Monday... had a terrible nightmare last night... so scary! woke up in the middle of the night and woke him up... hee! to give me some form of comfort and hug, with words of reassurance...

Our Favourite Game :) 30/09/2006

Wei Pei just sent us "Photo Hunt".... super challenging! Itz our favourite game.... Need to concentrate hard, switching from picture on the left to picture on the right, hoping to spot the 5 differences within the short period of time.... time to spot the 5 differences running really short, we still short of 2 differences! Oh look, there, there, there's an extra line here! Here, here, his eyebrows are slanted instead of straight!!

Will look for this game to play whenever we go Arcade :) A 50-cent can make us glued to the screen, having great fun even though we need to stand... he will concentrate on the left side of the picture while me will concentrate on the right side of the picture... in this way, chances of us missing differences will be minimised.... :P 2 grown ups in the world of children... not paiseh... :P

Other than "Photo Hunt", we will also play Daytona... he will drive manual mode, whereas me will drive auto mode... dunno how to use the gears to manouvre, so might as well use auto & let the system take over while me just concentrate on the driving & not crashing... is it guys who like to be in control? He feels manual is better as he is able to control his speed.... i dun see the need leh... hmm.... anyway, me reached the finishing line before him!! haha!! Yippee!

Wedding Nostalgia... 24/09/2006

Went to Dearie xiong di wedding at The Oriental last night, to give him our best wishes as we think it more appropriate not to attend his wedding dinner as we are still in the mourning for grandpa... thou it's not 49 days yet and the couple is not superstitious, still... dun wish to have unlucky or unforeseen stuff happen...

Just missed our wedding preparations up to the big day, how nervous we are during the dinner when we saw them at the reception... we were realli lucky that our preparations went well, wat wif the wedding and house renovations... no hiccups nor problems with our I.D. - Simply Creative, Bridal Boutique - Ritz Couture, Make-Up Artist - Chris, Wedding Shoot Photographer - Eric, Wedding Photographer - Willy, Wedding Videographer - Christopher, Hotel Coordinator - Sen from Marina Mandarin, Banquet Manager - Rosman... really lucky as we have heard many unhappy encounters from friends of their experiences with I.Ds and bridal boutiques.... is it cos we were not "aggressive" and & "demanding", so they were kind enough to render their valuable advice, tips and more than satisfactory work? :)

I even jokingly asked Dearie whether we can get married another time... haha!! Came back home to watch our videos of our wedding after dinner :)) Lying down together in bedroom, with the air-con on and with blanket, watching the videos just brought smiles & tears of joy to our eyes again as those happy memories flood back.... hope 10 years down the road, it'll still be the same as we watch the videos, maybe with our children.... "Dad, Mum, who are those 2 slim people on the screen?" :PP

TGIF! 22/9/06

Hurrah! Tomorrow is Saturday oredi! So happy and been looking forward to weekends so much!

Just back from lunch of char kway teow & wu xiang opposite ROM :) Yumz! Though our hair does smell of food, it's okay... cos really like the chai bor in the char kway teow, yummy! :)

Watched "Miami Vice" at GV Marina Square last night, with his 2 xiong dis & 1 xiong di wif GF... dun find the movie exciting, too slow-paced for my taste... what's most interesting is not the show, but the seats we bot! His xiong di's GF chose the couple seats! 3 couple seats, for 2 couples & 2 xiong dis... dun be mistaken, his 2 xiong dis are not Brokeback Mountain fans... but itz really worth a hearty laugh when we see their reactions, how come the seats got no arm rest?? We let them sit between us (2 couples) so that other couples wun look at them weirdly... Heehee!!

Finally bot my pink sweater from OG! Actually went to OG opposite Sim Lim Square on Wed, but unable to find it there.. seems like it doesn't carry the sweater... at first was so worried OGs have run out of stock... luckily able to find it at OG People's Park, where we saw it the first time! :) Left only 2 pieces, so chose the better and cleaner-looking one and bot it immediately, or else out of stock for sure! Oso bot matching gloves, light brown to match the fur around the cape :) Bot a pink woollen hat too to go with my pink image :) Wanna take picture of myself in this outfit, but stopped by the salesger... Should i buy a scarf to go along with it? Maybe light brown? Or else, will look so pink... :P

Dearie is now eyeing a smartphone from Nokia, with no camera... Nokia E61... will nid to save $$ for dis... after work today, will go to Hello at City Link to get his multi-sim card... Singtel has promotion till 30/9/06, so better get it now.. can save on so much $$!

Non-Camera Phone... 19/09/2006

oh no... the handphone which me bought for Dearie as his birthday present might have to be downgraded to be his "weekend-phone"... his company is clamping down on camera-phones... circular has been sent to all staff and seems like drastic measures would be taken against staff who defy this... may have their camera-phones confiscated or pay fines... also can't deposit their camera-phones at the lobby when you enter the office building...

he does have a non-camera phone, but this phone has problems... it will automatically shut down at times, so he is looking at other non-camera phones... as he will need to switch his sim-card from non-camera to camera phones on weekends and back to non-camera phone on weekdays, we feel it quite a hassle as well as worried that the sim-card will be more easily scratched... so now also looking at options on having multi sim-card...

he has checked with his fren working @singtel... will need to pay a one time fee of $42, and $5.25 every month thereafter... Dearie has decided to "test water" first for one week, see how, then decide whether to buy a new non0-camera phone or getting the multi sim-card...

hmm... if the circular has been sent earlier, then me would not have bought that phone for him... could have bought a non-camera phone pda for him which he has also been eyeing... well... too bad... cant go against fate... hee...

Weekend of Movies 17/09/2006

Weekends are the most enjoyable times, always look forward to it after a long week of hard work... however, weekends also pass by really fast, in the blink of an eye, without realising it, it's Monday and back to work again

Had a movie-filled weekend last weekend :) Watched "Haunted Apartments" on Saturday wif Dearie's friends, followed by supper of Teochew Porridge at Bukit Timah ... On Sunday, watched "The Banquet"... both movies are of different genres but really nice! Worth watching ;)

Personally don't like horror movies, don't believe in spending money to scare ownself... however, since his friends wanna watch, so tag along lor... moreover, Dearie is beside me... he is all prepared to have me squirming beside him, clutching his hands tightly throughout the movie already... Throughout the movie, I was using my hands to cover my face, peeking at the show through the gaps in my fingers... the gaps will either become narrower as the scare index increases, or become wider as the scare index decreases... Similarly, as the scare index increases, Dearie will put his hands around my shoulder to give me assurance that he is by my side... This is me and him at a horror movie screening... =P

"The Banquet" is really nice, follows "Hamlet", a Shakespearean play closely... very grand and human minds are really complicated... hates and pities the characters as the movie progresses... It's the 1st time we watched movies at Bishan Junction 8 GV... the chairs are slanted, in the sense that you feel yourselves looking up at the big screen, ... there are no steps in the cinema hall we went too, but with the slanted seats, you won't have heads blocking your views... maybe that's why the seats are slanted... ;P

Sweet Weekend 10/09/2006

Weekend was really sweet, with pressies, favourite roti prata, strolling by the beach, mee sua & lots more...

9 Sept is our 1 year ROM anniversary... time really flies! Been a year liao... Had our fair share of quarrels, misunderstandings amidst the sweet memories of doing housework together, sleeping and waking up in each other's arms... the sweet memories always seem to overshadow the unhappy memories... m i too easily satisfiable? =)

We went for a ride in our new addition (Kia Picano) to our family of 3 months... think really worked him out... hee !! He is known as Picanto to others, but Pooh-canto to us... hee!! Colleagues and friends who ride in him always tease Dearie... poor him! He always tells his colleagues and friends that he wears the pants in the family, i decide which pair he wears... is it true? hmmz...

We had our wedding bands polished at Bugis Lee Hwa... will take 3 weeks, sales staff said our rings are swiss-made rings, will take a longer time than normal rings which take about 1 week... we are wondering does it mean the rings will be flown to Switzerland and back? the 1st polishing is free whereas subsequent polishings will cost $20... Dearie was saying betta dun polish too often else the rings will become thinner and thinner... is it true? Feel so 'naked' without our wedding bands now, in the turn, resorted to wearing the bands we wore during courtship daes... :)

Took neo cards too to mark our 1 year of being married... we always take neo cards during our monthly anniversaries... like to view the album where these cards are placed, see our smiles, faces, fatter or slimmer etc...

Oso brot Dearie to have his favourite tiramisu at a dessert shop near Raffles Hotel.. shop is very bright and cosy, run by 3 young ladies... sorry Dearie, for not preparing a cake with candles in advance! Hope this will make up for it...

After that, we went Raffles Town Club and cot "Elizabethtown" ... not bad, though very slow moving... fell asleep during part of the movie on Dearie's shoulder... he practically waved his hand in front of my face to check if me stil awake!! haha!! Bluffed him that me stil awake... hee...

At night, we went to have cheese roti prata near NUS... then West Coast Park for a stroll... seems to have some repair works done, the beach was closed up by some high barricades, no breeze and no sea view.... sighz... had our favourite chocolate milkshake from Mac before heading home

Sun, 10/9/06, is Dearie's birthday... yes... me older than him by 3 months 1 week... anyway, in the morning, went to pay respects to his grandfather, being the 3rd week after his cremation... lunch was a family lunch of bak kut teh... yums!!

Then went shopping at OG People's Park wif his mum & sis... his sis bot him gloves as birthday pressie for our honeymoon trip in Dec... me tried on a few coats... particularly like a pink long coat, a bit puffy but very sweet.... even has a hood, wid fur at the edges! put on the hood & viewed myself in the mirror... hee! nice nice but difficult to get matching pink gloves leh.... may have to consider other coats liao

Oso bot a big luggage, meant to buy the biggest luggage for 2, but not practical, can only be used once during our honeymoon... other trips wouldnt be so long... in the end, settled for the 2nd largest one... will bring 2 luggages back

Met his uni frenz for tea at Great World City ArchAngels, before heading home

Being his birthday, decided to prepare mee sua for him as dinner ;) We bot minced meat, fishball noodles to go with the mee sua... oso prepared 1 hard boiled egg for him... so funny! we don't know how to tell whether the eggs are ready! Not sure whether hard boiled eggs will sink or float in the boiling water... in the end, called mum for help! she laughed at my ignorance & said the eggs will neither float nor sink, jus nid "agaration" of about 15-20 mins for the eggs to be hard-boiled! She also said even if cook till tomorrow, the eggs will oso not sink nor float, only wasting gas! haha!! =) Dearie oso laughed at me... but glad he likes the Ai Xin Mee Sua...

Dearie's Birthday 05/09/2006

Dearie's birthday is coming... He is a September baby, Virgo... perfectionist? True in many ways, I would say...

Bought the Samsung new phone, Ultra Edition 12.9 for him as a gift... He has been eyeing it for so long... coincidentally, me got a mailer from Samsung on this phone... with this mailer, one can get a free handphone pouch, a 256mb mini-sd card as well as a TV cable when one purchases the phone at any Samsung shop... so went yesterday to Suntec City wif him to purchase the phone... his eyes actually lit up! :))

The phone is so slim & sleek! It has another name to it, D900 model, which actually got me confused most of the time... It also looks very much like another model but if one looks closely at the buttons, one can pretty much tell the difference... the standby mode also distinguishes between day and night on the phone! smart hor? In the daytime, there are birds flying about in the clear blue sky, whereas in the nighttime, there are shooting stars!! Cool!!

Glad he likes the present!! So child like, the way his eyes lit up and bright smile on his face when he got the phone...

Marissa... My Boss 28/08/2006

My boss, Marissa has left us... She has left us for a selfless reason - to take care of her elderly father and family.. Happy for her and yet sad that such a nice boss & fren has left us...

When she broke the news of her leaving us during our team's meeting on 27/7/06, I wasn't present cos I was on mc (sprained my neck, know it's funny but still...) she called me on my mobile to tell me personally so that I wouldn't hear any distorted version from others... I was so shocked and broke down immediately... wonder how I would react if I was at the meeting... drama

During her farewell last week, I was also unable to join as I was at grandpa's wake... luckily, my colleagues took alot of photos & videos of those special moments & showed me... I felt like I was present even though I wasn't there... we gave her our own personalised photo album cum scrapbook and a winnie the pooh music box from Royal Selangor... glad she likes the album which we contains our photos and special words for her

Special thanks to Gin who burnt a copy of Customer Relations (CR) memories for each and every one of us in the team. Thanks to Kian too who also burnt a copy of the video and photos taken during the farewell lunch for Marissa

This is my dedication to Marissa, with her name being the first alphabet of each sentence

M aking the tense mood in CR light-hearted is your forte
A bility to turn nasty 'crazy' customers into valuable learning points
R ight is wrong, left is right - a clever tag line for last year's SMRT Challenge
I nteresting are your attempts at conversations made in Mandarin
S tanding up with and for us in times of great adversity
S o touched are we that our role is recognised
A special lady who is dedicated to both work and family

W ithout you, life is CR is definitely going to be different
O h, do remember to think of us from time to time
N ever putting on airs despite being DD
G oing to miss you when you leave us...

Tribute to Ken's 23/08/2006

Dearie's grandfather passed away on Monday morning... he has been ailing for quite a while and will be reconciled wif grandma in the other world... we received Dearie's mum's call early in the morning and we immediately applied for 1 week urgent leave... Dearie is the eldest grandson and he had alot of stuff to do during the wake...

Being the eldest grandson of the eldest son, Dearie seems to have heavier responsibilities... think according to teochew traditions, eldest grandson is equivalent to being the youngest son... tomorrow is the funeral and we have to stay overnite at the wake tonite...

both of us stayed overnite on tue nite... me stayed up whole nite at the wake cos hv difficulties sleeping in 'foreign' places... Dearie managed to catch an hr's sleep in our pooh-canto... :P me stayed up to fold the joss papers into 'ingots' and watched out for any cats that may stray in...

rest in peace, grandpa....

Back to Blogging.... 15/08/2006

i am back, after a long period of MIA from Friendster... straight after my wedding dinners on 10 & 16 June 2006 and a short rest, i plunged into work & heavy preparations for a major event - SMRT Challenge 2006... it's a form of 'Amazing Race' whereby participants need to solve clues and travel islandwide to perform physically challenging and courtesy/safety tasks at each of the 24 pitstops around the island... i was secretary for the event as the existing secretary resigned, so i was in a way suddenly thrown in... but luckily the event turned out to be a success.

Must comment on my wedding ;)) Had great fun preparing!! we wanna give thank-u speech during the dinner on 16 June 2006.. i had stage fright, was so afraid i would stumble or our guests unable to hear my voice... but luckily ken was by my side, giving silly jokes to liven the guests & lighten my tense mood... moreover, wif the great help from my jiemeis, his xiongdis & the hotel staff, the dinner went smoothly, without us having to worry too much... our videographer & photographer were also very professional! Our guests must be very amused to see the instantaneous photographs that were shown on the big screen after the photographer took the photographs!! He also gave out name-card sized photographs to our guests ;) It's also a form of advertising his company and services

When we sat back and watched the videos taken of our wedding on 10 & 16 June 2006, those memories, feelings simply flooded back... it seemed to be just yesterday...

Enjoying married life too... :) Our own Er Ren Shi Jie... we have own share of quarrels or misunderstandings, but ultimately it's fate that brought us together & we truly treasure our lives together ;) Looking at our wedding photoshoot 3-in-1 portrait at home simply brought back wonderful memories of that dae too ;)

Wedded on 10 Jun 2006

We are wedded on 10 June 2006, an auspicious date for many couples as it is 15th of of the lunar 5th month! was too excited the previous night and didnt sleep well, was also a bit down with cold (typical like what ken said, always fall ill during the wrong time

Woke up at about 4.00am cos really too excited... haha!!

Though the waiting for ken & his bros to come at 9.00am was long (from 7.00am when I was ready), it was fun! cos get 2c my jiemeis plotting and preparing the props for the upcoming haggling time, revealing their plots to Chris, our videographer....

When ken & his bros arrived at 9.00am, they sounded the car horn loud and clear... but too bad the 1st task ken had to undergo was not that loud... he was supposed to shout from the carpark and my jiemeis & parents were supposed to hear what he shouted from my 8th floor kitchen... 1st 2 attempts were too soft but heard from my jiemeis that residents from the neighbouring blocks looked down from their kitchens to see what was happening... finally on the 3rd attempt, his bros assisted him and I managed to hear some loud mumblings from the bedroom (behind closed windows and closed doors

Again, I was behind closed doors (but my jiemeis kindly assisted to keep the bedroom door ajar so that I can hear the fun and commotion of the haggling), I can sense my jiemeis having fun especially with the special beverages, singing and dancing his bros need to go through... they were already considered lucky as they managed to skip 2 tasks... if not, dont know how they will react hor, jiemeis? haha

I felt like a princess on 10 June 2006, with my jiemeis assisting me with my train and sandals... they must have sensed I was very nervous, scared of tripping over my own gown and making a fool of myself.. hee... really touched as they even assisted me in changing out of my gown and into my tea dress... big thanks and hugs to jieying, janice, changling, judy, joyce, weipei and shuling!!!!

Luckily, my 7 jiemei are very resourceful and helpful! :) thanks gers! they have helped me tremendously, especially advising me on the admin prog & stuff to take note of... me super duper blur leh... haha!!

Wedding Photo Shoot 27/03/2006

We had our wedding photoshoot on 27/3/06. It was so fun! We were like models, posing for the photographer... He was very professional :) Some of the photos were taken with us looking lovingly at each other, looking at some far corner or locking lips with each other... All in all, the shoot takes 1 whole day, from about 11am in the morning to about 6.00pm in the evening.

We went Sentosa and the bridge behind Fullerton Hotel for outdoor shoots :) Luckily for us, the weather was not hot, so we did not sweat too much. :P Though it was drizzling, the rain was not too heavy and it was still quite cooling for us.

We tried a take a picture of our reflection in a puddle of water at the carpark near Fullerton Hotel... though the photo turns out quite artistic, it is spoilt by a raindrop on my head... in the end, we didn't choose that photo for our album.

At the sentosa beach, we went to the long bridge for photo-taking... alot of beach-goers actually kept looking at us... some of the gers even wished us 'happy wedding!!' haha!! though my gown & his pants got all wet in the beach water, it was worth it... actually when ken carried me, he accidentally stepped on my gown & tore off the lace... luckily, elaine from ritz couture didn't blame us & ask us to pay for the gown!! she said it's an outdoor gown & meant to be 'abused'... hee!

We Are Always A Child In Our Parents' Eyes? 10/12/2005

Does the above statement hold true for most of us?

Our parents will always treat us like a child even if we are married, have children of our own etc...

This question pops up in my mind cos my parents will still call me almost daily... dad will say he misses my voice, mum will always asks whether we have eaten and what we have eaten, oso asks if we still have enough food stocked up in our fridge :P If not enough, she will buy for me when she does her own shopping @ wet market (cos she knows I dont go wet market, only go ntuc, cold storage, carrefour etc)... ken's mum will buy instant noodles, pasta, cooling tea etc for us... looks like both our parent are very worried we dont know how to take care of ourselves!

Ken's sis & dad have went for a short holiday overseas, so his mum will be alone @ home during this period... she rejects our offer of coming over our place... now, ken's dad & grandmother will call her often... she even lamented to us "they treat me like a 3-year old kid!!" ken smiled an evil smile @ me... does he mean to say our parents also like this wat? Or that we will grow up to be like them when we have children of our own? Hee!

Hmmz... something to ponder about ya? :P

Food... 12/11/2005

Food... who don't love food right? :P Think we are lucky to live in Singapore, where there are all kinds of different food available around us, but think can find the most types of food at hawker centres... though not air-conditioned, one can get to savour many different types of food from the various food stalls there @ affordable prices...

I particularly like eating... especially spicy, fried or 'noodle' food... however, like most gers, I am scared of putting on weight or getting unnecessary pimple breakouts... :P

Anyway, having my own home now means having to cook meals for hubby and myself, especially during weekends when both of us are not working... I love cooking... though when still living with my parents then, I usually don't cook cos mum will do all the cooking... but now, it's different... having own home means we are able to buy our favourite foods to stock up our fridge, add our own favourite food ingredients etc... it's also fun when both of us get to prepare a meal together ;))

Now, I will pay great attention to the ingredients that go into a dish when I eat outside, make a mental note and try to prepare something similar at home... hee!! A fun process

Dae 1 @ Work 07/11/2006

todae is my 1st dae @ work... was both excited n nervous @ same time... hvg rested for nearly 3 weeks, being
'housewife' @ new hm, cooking meals, doing housechores, waking up late almost daily during my 3 weeks' break hv made me kinda not used to returning to work life... :P gues wil miss d luxury of being able to sleep in... :PP

it's realli a change from my former job wif PA... working environment is much more lively n location is more central... colligs r mostly younger n fun-loving... in fact, the dept me in r all gers!

had orientation in the morning, followed by a brief introduction to the department in the afternoon... wil b taking care of feedback related to trains... some of the feedback received can b quite ridiculous n ticklish... wun nid to handle calls unless the officers manning the calls find the callers too difficult to handle, then the calls wil b escalated up to myself n 2 other execs like myself...

wil nid to clean up my cubicle a bit thou, cos quite dusty... oredi packed wet tissues so as to wipe wipe clean clean tmr...

all in all, dae 1 @ new workplace went quite smoothly... *phew* not a bad start after all...

1 more incident that brightens up my dae is some colligs commented dat me din look my age... looks younger than my actual age... coming to think of it, wonder me shld b flattered (for looking youthful) or sad (for nt looking mature enuff)... hmmz...
